Maybe they'll bring back the old sprites for 4-0 and make Klavier look out of place like he did on the DS.

Not that Im complaining about this well overdue port, but whys it called the Apollo Justice Trilogy? Only one game has his name in the title. To be fair, Spirit of Justice is pretty Apollo-centric, but Im not sure if you could make the same argument for Dual Destinies.

I know DD is billed as Phoenix's comeback/Athena's introduction and therefore an ensemble game, but honestly Apollo gets a lot of development in that one, so it makes sense to think of 4-5-6 as the Apollo trilogy

6 is worth full price and is overall high tier AA (with a couple bad cases thrown in)

4 is.not good but I figure all Ace Attorney fans should play it at least once

Ha, this is the exact same boat as me. I skipped 4 after hearing so many dodgy things about it, and never got 6 (or 5-DLC) as Capcom abruptly stopped doing 3DS sales in Europe years ago for some reason. Might as well play all of them now they're together, though! I liked Apollo as a character in DD so hoping that's enough to push me through his debut.

What else are you going to call it? Calling it Ace Attorney Trilogy 2 would be kinda silly, and you can't really call it the Phoenix Wright Trilogy either because people will think that's the first three games.

I just hope this one has silly trophies like the first trilogy.

Apollo's arc from the start of 4 to the end of 6 is the most...complete, I'd say? He definitely seems more central to it than Phoenix or anyone else at that point.

I would argue 5 is more Phoenix/Athena than Apollo, even if he gets some standout moments.

6 is definitely Apollo first/Phoenix second and Athena gets kinda shafted.

He honestly got more development in 5 (and 6) than he did in 4 (the only one of the trilogy where his name is in the title)

Yeah, Apollo gets short changed in AJ itself, ironically enough. By the end of PW1, Phoenix is a fully formed character. By the end of AJ, it feels like we hardly know anything about Apollo other than he likes lawyering.

Phoenix having a immediate, distinct rival in Edgeworth to help him build up his character is something Apollo... Never gets at all. If Apollo had an Edgeworth of some sort, they could've gone further with his early development.

They try to give Apollo one in AA6 and then they make the mistake of barely having them interact at all, so it's not like AJ is the only game where they made missteps with his character development!

I probably enjoyed 4 more than most people. As long as you dont expect it to be the best, there is a lot to like about it.

6 is my favorite of the entire series. Id say its a must play.

4 > 6

AA4 is such a misstep even for Apollo himself that you could argue some of it's content may not even be cannon anynore, or at least has been deemed completely irrelevant.

Let's be honest, 6 is all about Rayfa. Apollo, the prosecutor guy who chants things, even Phoenix to an extent, exist to be a backdrop for a girl who dances to Ghost in the Shell music. Rayfa and Phoenix banter is all I need to love that game.

Figured this would happen pretty soon after the closure of the eshop. The closer we get to AAI2 localization and new games, the better.

I rewatched the trailer and like....

I've always really like the AA5 and AA6 3D models a ton, way more than the 1-3 sprites.

But I've never been able to decide between AA4's sprites or the 3D models.

Now we've got the 3D models which I've already experienced in HD on my phone, sitting next to the AA4 sprites that I'm seeing in HD for the first time.....and I'm a little sad we've moved on NGL!

Hot take: Apollo is a better character than Phoenix.

yeah I agree. For what it's worth, AJ is the best looking game in the series. The 3D models are fine; they're just a bit slow.

The breakdowns are great in the 3D games though, feel like they constantly try to outdo each case

I do hope these games invest in more voice acting eventually. After a game like AI: The Somnium Files being fully voiced for 95% of dialogue, it's weird going back to fully text based VNs.

Don't care about this (as I can play AA4-6 whenever I want)
But this is a step forward so that's good
Now if they have no choice but to make AA7 (or release AAI2 in English finally)

Hard disagree honestly. I vastly prefer the differently pitched text sound effect. I read these games faster than I can listen to them, and so it would just be kind of a waste for me. Also hearing some of this puns/jokes said out loud would be extremely cringy in my opinion.

Yeah I don't think we need more voice acting than we already have. I'm picturing them turning down something like Cornered so we can hear the dialogue over it, and I don't like that. The occasional OBJECTION! or TAKE THAT! is plenty.

Yeah, honestly, if AA7 never happens, AA6 is a pretty satisfying ending point.

Of course, I'd have said the same after AA3, too, so I won't say no to more games either!
