Basically he said that if he gets some documentation from my wife's mental health professionals saying that they have tried what they can and don't really see opportunities for things to improve through counselling and therapy, then he would say yes. Finding mental health professionals that are willing to put that in writing when they know it would be for MAID may be a bit of a challenge... but we see the same psychologist and as such he knows what is going on and should be able to provide documentation. She is younger but has been very supportive of what my wife wants to do, but not yet to the point of BEING the second assessor. My wife is battling stage 4 ovarian cancer, and while she's responded to the treatments well, there are periods of time where she would rather give up and not go thru the medical procedures. Breaks my heart to hear that. She's had so much love and support through all her ordeals, and she can't process that the people who love her will miss her? I'm not going to remotely pretend I am in her shoes. I do know what it can be like when you have some kind of programming to make you think that you're a burden when people come help you, and I know what a hill it can be to overcome that kind of voice in your head.
