Since no one's going to answer my question post number 25, here's another one. Why does this stuff need to be erased? Because it contains things that are objectionable IRL? It's a work of fiction, not reality. If we're not allowed to have fictional depictions of things that are wrong, then this entire game should just be erased. It's a fighting game. Fighting is bad. Guns are bad. Misuse of medical equipment is bad. Why do we glorify all this violence but draw the line at panties?

Oh are we supposed to pretend that Skullgirls isn't a softcore porn game after these changes? Because I really doubt they went back and edited out all the panty shots and big wobbling titties in the actual playable game portion of it. They'd need to do new animations for most of the cast.

These changes were made to pander to and appeal to people who never liked the game and weren't playing it. There's a fair chance they won't notice until some games journalist has another slow news day

It is kinda dumb to let censorship happen just to "lol @ losers who care." Like, that's what allows it to get normalized enough that it can happen to something you do care about. >_>

IIRC the release notes said something about the changes being in anticipation of an international version of the game being released. So most of these changes probably have nothing to do with the developers relative level of prudishness and everything to do with restrictions that exist in other markets. For example, you can't sell games in Germany with Nazi imagery, so it would make sense to strip those elements out if you're planning an EU release of the game.

Are we gonna pretend like movies, music, art, etc haven't had "pointless" sexual stuff in them from their invention. Not everything needs to be sanitized to fit mainstream sensibilities, vulgarity is the spice of life.
