It honesty wasn't that bad. It was way way way better then the crystal skull. I liked the beginning with the Nazi train. Then it was boring for a while tell about midway when the race was on. There was a few eye rolling parts but nothing too bad in my opinion. I absolutely loved the siege of Syracuse. It actually made me giddy and Indiana jones meeting Archimedes was basically how I would have been if I met him as well. Overall I give it a 7/10. It was a entertaining movie and everyone in the theater clapped when it was over. The kids in front of me (there was like 10) all enjoyed it as well. It was a good movie and doesn't deserve the hate it's getting. It just wasn't a great movie. Overall I enjoyed it.

I generally agree but 6 / 10 and I thought Crystal Skull was more fun (if not that great). My Letterboxd review:

While not bad, it is my least favorite Indiana Jones. Overlong with a solemn Harrison Ford and only one action set piece (Morocco chase) that truly stands up with the best of the franchiae. I guess maybe two set pieces, as the opening section was exhilarating (other than some uncanny valley de-aging). Really my issue is that this is an Indiana Jones movie and Indiana Jones never really shows up. Phoebe Waller-Bridge is outstanding, however, and is by far the best part of the movie, making up somewhat for his lack of energy.

Yeah I get him being low energy, but he is rather old now. So I give it a pass just because of the practicality of it. Which is why I wasn't too harsh on the movie. Also my thing with crystal skull is I hated the aliens thing. Sure some "magic" is fine but I just thought the aliens was too ridiculous for me. But it has been a while since I seen crystal skull. I do remember enjoying it though. I just felt this was better cause it was some what more grounded.

Yes, movie takes place in '69, apparently Mutt enlisted and was killed in Vietnam.

I would give Dial of Destiny a 6/10, which is just slightly ahead of Crystal Skull at 5/10. The CGI and intro were much better in this movie, but it was still kind of boring and the ending made no sense. I don't hate that this movie was made, but they could have done much better.
