If it gave them even a single ounce more power, Republicans would wipe their ass with the Constitution. They venerate it only because the Second and Tenth Amendment allows them control they otherwise would not have.

Republicans idolize Trump and Elon.

You think righties care at ALL about being caught as lying hypocrites?

Oh no, double standards are absolutely their way of life. Many of them don't even realize it, because self criticism is not good for greed.

Also, many think the Constitution is a series of quotes from Facebook without even reading it. So, they cherry pick those to help prove their point without knowing better.

They also seem to think its meant to be timeless and immutable rather than a living document to be updated as appropriate.

And the constitution explicitly says what about the separation of church and state?

Article Six of the Constitution states: "The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious Test shall ever be Required as a Qualification To any Office or public Trust under the United States."

In other words, no religion should ever be used as a catalyst for decisions in America's government or choice in its representatives. It's a response to how the church in England had a political foothold in government affairs back then.

Good start, though you've already strayed from being a stickler for what is actually in the constitution. Not requiring elected officials to meet a religious test is not the same as keeping religion out of decisions. Much like how the first amendment forbids the establishment of religion, that does not explicitly forbid elected officials from enshrining their dogmatic beliefs into law.
