Props for putting up with Tenchi in Tokyo otherwise a solid list. Good a mix of old school and new school.

Needs some Gundam, Ghost in the Shell (movie), Akira, and maybe some Sailor moon/ronin warriors but thats a nitpick

I only watched the Tenchis as a kid but even then I knew that Tokyo was so bad compared to the other two

Holy cow Paranoia Agent unlocked a memory I had when I was little.

Paranoia Agent's last few episodes are a step down but the first 75% is so good that it still keeps it as one of the best

Maybe I'll just do a figure collection. Thats a much shorter list

Then their review is great as it lets you know exactly what kind of trash it is. And if you are there for trash they'll let you know quickly.

Lol, I don't have an MAL for exactly that reason. I can't say where I'm at, but whatever it is it's way too high for me to want to bother with.

Wasn't expecting to see Deca-Dence on your list, that's an underappreciated gem that more people need to watch. Can't say I agree with part 4 being the best JoJo part, but I know people have different tastes. You like JoJo in general and that's great.

Also, I used to use MAL as my primary tracker, but I personally like AniList better.

MAL has it as the 10th most watched anime of the season it aired, and I remember it being overshadowed by ReZero, Rent-a-Girlfriend, Misfit of Demon King Academy, and others. Plus, I also remember a good chunk of the people who tried it dropped it after what happened in episode 2 and didn't give the rest of the show a fair chance.

How can a show with Straight Cougar get a 4?

tbh if Deca Dence kept up with the story of the first episode and didn't have the reveal in the second I'd like it more

I didn't say it was the most popular, just that it was up there with the shows that had insane amounts of viewers. You are also looking at post season numbers as it was way above Demon King during airing but because Demon King got hyped by content creators it had a lot of people start watching it later.

And you are explaining why everyone stopped. They gave it the chance and didn't like it. It's why you can go to MAL and find a bunch of Recommended reviews with 4/12 episodes watched yet the first not-Recommended is from a person who saw the entire season.

That story was just diet Attack On Titan though. The twist and the "second story" that came with it was what made the show really interesting for me. It just needed a few more episodes to tell it because it felt rushed at times, like many original anime tend to.

The only anime I've actually finished but given a super low score like that was Darling In The Franxx, which went to shit so late that I figured "I'm close enough to the end that I may as well finish it" and it continued to get worse and worse as it got closer to the end.

You didn't like Scryed? Compared to some of the other trashy animes that's kinda weird.

Putting Paprika on that list is awkward, it's like legit comparing The Godfather to Guardians of the Galaxy.

Honestly, gotta give some kudos to positive anime fans here. They're basically unicorns.
Also possibly in a honeymoon phase when they're refinding something they haven't touched in years. I certainly know that feeling lol.
