Slayer_22 07/14/23 4:13:14 AM #1:	I'm doing a replay of it(and P4G), and I'm dreading doing Kaneshiro and Futaba's palaces. Kaneshiro already has the worst palace design wise, and all the stuff with Makoto...bleh. She makes the PTs dumber for the entire palace. There's multiple points where she does this. Critiques their way of going in without a plan(because you literally cannot) and then acts all high and mighty over it. And, shit, when they're about to do the calling card, they all conveniently FORGET HOW TO DO IT. But don't worry, Makoto knows how! She...does exactly the same thing they've done twice before. GG. She never has to apologize for the stuff she did. When she is about to, Ann stops her to apologize instead despite doing literally nothing wrong. She becomes one of the main focal points through her palace AND she's pushed on you for Futaba's too. Her confidant, contrary to others who have to learn to get over emotional, physical, or subconscious issues and grow as people, has her...learning to trust herself because she's always right. Her confidant is learning that she's never wrong. She's the most forced romance in Persona 5. Easily. She's up there with Marie and Rise. Ann comes to terms with her place as model and no longer ties her self worth to it. Haru decides to open her own coffee shop and let someone else handle BBB. Ohya literally tries to solve a mental shutdown case involving her friend and it's actually much more interesting than I expected. If her abilities were worth a damn in either game maybe more people would have liked Ohya but afaik she's the least popular Waifu. The whole thing with Kasumi and ~~Sumire,~~ though back loaded is still really gripping. Futaba stops being an agoraphobe and reunites with her childhood friend (Kana? Idk) Kawakami rediscovers her love for teaching and has EASILY the single best confidant skill in the game. Meanwhile, Makoto's arc is just so mediocre. I just could not give a fuck about Eiko. The focal point of her arc is learning to trust herself through helping Eiko but, again, I do not give a fuck about Eiko. Up until the point of Mona having a big crybaby turn about everybody having no use for him hes the single most useful party member apart from Joker due to his unrivalled healing capabilities. Its like the script is written to cater to Makoto and its irritating. Her confidant was weak too. It really fucking is and I hate it. The group dynamic was so much stronger before she joined. Cemith posted... After replaying a few times, I definitely think her confidant arc pales in comparison to, honestly, most everyone else. Ann comes to terms with her place as model and no longer ties her self worth to it. Haru decides to open her own coffee shop and let someone else handle BBB. Ohya literally tries to solve a mental shutdown case involving her friend and it's actually much more interesting than I expected. If her abilities were worth a damn in either game maybe more people would have liked Ohya but afaik she's the least popular Waifu. The whole thing with Kasumi and ~~Sumire,~~ though back loaded is still really gripping. Futaba stops being an agoraphobe and reunites with her childhood friend (Kana? Idk) Kawakami rediscovers her love for teaching and has EASILY the single best confidant skill in the game. Meanwhile, Makoto's arc is just so mediocre. I just could not give a fuck about Eiko. The focal point of her arc is learning to trust herself through helping Eiko but, again, I do not give a fuck about Eiko. They could have done anything, they could have made it about her relationship to her Sister, her Father, or even just her place in the phantom thieves and figuring out her place amongst the team. Easily so. This is the first Persona where I enjoyed EVERY social link without fail, if you ignore Makoto. Whereas P3 had some definite stinkers and lame ones, P5 had so many good ones. Even though I don't like Chihaya much, her confidant is really good. Hifumi's is nice. Takemi's is interesting. Sojiro is Sojiro, obviously great. Then you got Makoto.
