Do people deliberately try to not understand his message or do they just immediately shut everything out because he said he was team TERF?

His specials are good and he makes his feelings very clear but I feel like every post I see is ignorant of this.

You're right, he made his feelings very clear that to him trans people are not people, they are freaks meant to be shunned and mocked by people like him and it makes him angry whenever people compare their struggles to black struggles. What's missing? That it makes him and his fans mad when people who don't agree with that message walk away from him or attack him over it?

Chappelle had potential to be GoaT at one time, then he started punching down. Now? George Carlin seems pretty secure with GoaT status for the foreseeable future.

In my time, he's on the tier below Carlin and Rock. And from time to time I read that he's a bigot, then I watch the act in question, and the intentional absurdity, irony if you will, is clear enough. Haven't caught the last one, but it's probably the same thing.

I still enjoy his old stuff, however his new stuff is just not that enticing to me and also I am disappointed in what he's become.

I was already soured when he tried to make the "cancelling" attempt of Kevin Hart a LGBTQ v Black community thing (as if to state that no black people could be LGBTQ and upset with Kevin Hart from their perspective), however he went on stage with Elon Musk and literally mocked "the poors" as being bitter because he fired them.

That right there (Chappelle x Musk) killed any enjoyment one of my friends had even for his older stuff, because when they try to watch it they just keep coming back to that.

Used to be funny, now like must TERFs, his TERFness has replaced his actual personality.

I "watched it for myself" as the internet supporters told me I needed to. That last special has long political rants about trans people that no one laughs at, because they aren't jokes. They holler in approval or clap, but you can't laugh at him just saying political statements, which is what he does. The most absurd one being that if trans people want him to stop punching down on them they need to stop punching down on black people. I can't believe the audience clapped to such absolute nonsense.

Chappelle seemed to lean into the culture war shit willingly. That's really more of a conservative thing in general. Can't blame anyone but him on that one.
