Current Events > Mods need to start cracking down on Pitbull topics

Every one of them incites a debate that ends up with people wishing death on living creatures and trolling people who have them as pets. The topics often fall into trolling, abusive behavior, and sometimes offensive. Its okay to make a statement about how you feel about the breed and what their owners should be doing. Its not okay for topics to get posted excessively as a gimmick to troll every day and its not okay to personally attack or provoke people with them as pets.

I just wish for no new ones. The ones already alive should just be the last, but can live.

Statements like this are fine to say I guess. Its the targeting other peoples pets thats one of the issues here.

It is very silly. Having a per capita problem is not indicative of some of the insane shit people suggest. I don't know how much of it is shitposting and how much is serious, but it's just dumb either way.

Theres always more to it than reporting the news and its the same people doing it. Its comparable to posters that are known to seek out race baiting or transgender bashing articles because they have an agenda.

Thats seems pretty reasonable. Its the same posters that are doing it though. Then its the people posting in the topics that would be questionable.

I have to disagree with this, I think it's a useful thing to bring awareness. I myself may have never truly understood just how dangerous pitbulls are without these topics

Ill respond seriously to you even if its not advised. Human death toll is unfortunately not the issue. Its the owners being irresponsible and that can never be debated against factually.

You see them every day so now and then yeah I got annoyed with it. Today in particular because a topic was made about dogs that were not pitbulls who mauled someone because the owner and while reading the topic it turned into a pitbull troll fest. So now dogs cant be talked about here without the usual suspects coming in to talk about their hate for pitbulls.

Trolling should be targeted more for moderations when it gets to the obnoxious levels it has here. If people were constantly attacking pop music or British food and the intentions were to troll from the same people then yeah that is a problem. The difference is your examples are not directed at someones pet that they have an emotional bond with.

This. It's like if you kept seeing the same topic over and over without any real reason for there to be 20 topics on it.

While I'm not disagreeing with people saying that users who post a single themed topic like this over and over again are often either gimmick posters or trolls, these events are still happening whether you read about them or not. If it was someone constantly throwing out hypotheticals it would be one thing, but if you're more pissed at the poster who's able to find a new story about a pitbull attack every day than you are at the fact that there's an attack every day then you might be directing your frustration towards the wrong places.

the pitbull hate is really weird. people that claim to care about the 'death toll' are full of shit considering there is an average of only 33 deaths from dog attacks of all breeds per year and that includes cases where the owner of the dog instructed it to attack someone in a murder.

you know what kills more than an average of 33 people per year in the united states? almost everything that is capable of killing people.

I can absolute factually debate the notion that an animal that is dangerous if untrained shouldnt need to be trained or licensed. Again, you are clearly arguing for CE's protection from pitbull topics while saying maulings are just gonna happen and it's not the important issue worth attention.

I haven't seen one lately, though. The last one I saw was Mew just posting some statistics.

Agree to disagree, if anything I think caring so much about others intentions when it comes to news stories is what's ridiculous. As s0nicfan said, these are real new stories that are happening, perhaps we should be more concerned about that than whether or not someone may be trolling

If you want to talk to the mods, talk to the mods. If you want to get trolled about pitbulls, make a thread about how much it upsets you when people mention their predilection for killing toddlers.

Please point me where I can talk to the mods? Ask the mods board? No thanks thatll just get one response with the topic being closed lol. A better idea is making a topic where most of them reside that read these topics and can respond. Sounds like youre missing the point.
