Did all the major world quests, some very cool stuff this time around.

Freminet looks interesting at least but not really enough for me to use a lot of pulls on. Maybe a few, idk.

I dont have Zhongli and hes cool, but his timing banner wise is always awful. Hes the only character on either Id want even a little so nope. Playing the waiting game for my Fontaine characters

Freminet trial got me an achievement for killing an enemy with Shatter which I have apparently never done in two years playing.

Also reminded me I don't even have Mika for his phys buff so I'm even less tempted to try to pull for him.

I dont have Heizou, Kaveh, Mika or Freminet. I honestly forget Heizou even exists until hes in trials. Hes like never around for anything

Is Mika needed for Freminet? He's not even ideal for Eula teams, which would on the surface appear to the be the condition you'd want him for.

Fair point, I don't actually know what teams people are running him in. But his appeal seems more gimmicky than optimal. I mean let's be real, hyperbloom is probably one of his strongest teams but that's no fun.

Also reminds me I don't have Rosaria either! Besides that those three it's just Kriara who is still very new. But me and the Cryo element just don't get along.

4.1 special program is Friday morning. Time to hear about Otter and Rizzle, and probably the research institute. (I hope we can hop between the water blocks without a Fontaine character in the party.)

While I wait for a version of the livestream with English subtitles because my German isn't strong enough to translate, something else has been called to my attention -- every one of Hoyo's games runs on Unity.

If you haven't heard, Unity is changing their monetization model in an EXTREMELY predatory fashion. It will likely develop all new studios from using Unity, but that doesn't help companies that are already entrenched within it or have products that are on sale creating Unity -- which will be charging them extensively retroactively.

The TLDR is that companies are being charged per install of the game. Not purchase. Not new install. EVERY install. If you play Genshin on PC and mobile, that counts as two. If you get a new computer, that's three. If you remove it from your phone and then decide to bring it back, that's four.

And Genshin is, ostensibly, a free game. This could cost them money, which will potentially be passed on to the consumer in the form of more aggressive monetization. Hoyo hasn't been awful about this the way I would expect from a company using a gacha system, but they might either try to squeeze the playerbase more or they might scaling back on some of the aspects of the game they've been very generous with.

The other problem is remember the 1st anniversary debacle when everyone was rating-bombing anything and everything they could? People couple spam install and uninstall the game and cost Hoyo money in the process. For a game the size of Genshin, it probably doesn't make any sense to do this, but they could and you know there are going to be some idiots somewhere with a server farm that will. Maybe not even because they have a grievance but just because they can.

Maybe this is overblown and won't affect the end product at all, but there's a possibility it could.

The Unity changes are definitely targeted specifically at games like Genshin. But MHY has more money than God and I'll expect they will be either able to pay the fees or possibly fight Unity in court.

I think they're pretty limited in their ability to change their microtransaction model for the worst without causing massive backlash, but I'm sure they could come up with something sinister like making units useless without extra cons or weapons or something, idk.

Not really a leak, more of a rumor about Lantern Rite that's been kicking around since last year's resurfacing again, but I'll spoiler it anyways just in case.

Rumor is that Cloud Retainer or Madame Ping will be released for Lantern Rite this year, although people have been saying this since their flashback designs were shown in that cutscene so I'm not exactly getting my hopes up. People are really hungry for them. Still, it's interesting! Both of those characters would be high priority pulls for me and I don't have hard pulling plans besides Furina atm so I don't lose anything by saving.

At this point I'm looking forward to the story and exploration way more than pulling. Been pleasantly surprised by Fontaine overall.

I dunno, any banners or even reruns people are particularly looking forward to? I expect most people are going for Furina. Navia and Clorinde need to win me over more. And as far as reruns go I think I'm good except for Yae, whose banners have the WORST timing for me. Maybe Albedo for my boy Itto, though really he needs Gorou cons more...

If we're talking likely 5-stars, literally just Furina. This is looking to go the way of Sumeru with nearly every character I like ending up a scuffed 4-star that is barely playable.
Plus, all of Fontaine has this irritating self damaging playstyle that I don't really want to deal with.

I have enjoyed the story, though honestly I preferred the secondary world quests to playing detective in the city, and I hope the next update ditches the Phoenix Wright thing because it is starting to get old.

Hu Tao and Xiao say hi. On-topic, I'm curious to see what Neuvillette and Wriothesley can actually do, but I'm really waiting to see what Clorinde and Arlecchino are capable of. Furina doesn't interest me currently, but maybe 4.1 can change my mind...and she's an archon, so I'm stuck pulling for her anyway.

I wouldn't mind more PW, tbh, as long as it's done well and not shoehorned in. I imagine two cases is as much as we're going to get, though.

Yeah I don't really know how I feel about the self-damage stuff. It's a weird gimmick that doesn't seem to go well with much yet? Maybe it'll give me an excuse to use Baizhu in more teams.

I want Shenhe, Nahida and Raiden reruns. And also want Furina, Navia and Clorinde. I'm screwed.

Im looking forward to some future banners, but at least one might be quite far off. For known ones coming soon-ish I want Furina and Charlotte. Maybe will want others when I advance far enough in Fontaine to see them (yeah I still havent gone to Lyneys place yet lol)

Supposedly 4.2 is giving a free Freminet. Charlotte and Furina kits are leaking and both seem pretty good too, but I dunno when either is coming exactly

Same. That banner was such an easy skip in every other regard.

As opposed to the ones dropping in 4.1, which look pretty good. I'm going to try not to snap-pull Neuvillette until I hear more because I'm not sure if I'll enjoy his playstyle, but I certainly like the character. I think I have enough gems to grab him, Rizz, and Furina in sequence if I want to. (Though it's been a long time since I've had so many characters to level in such a short time if I go that route.)

Navia potentially being geo Nilou pleases me. Somehow turning crystallize shards into big boom.

The story and trial are definitely tempting me to pull for Monsieur Powerwash Simulator...but not as much as I want to save for Areleccino if she becomes playable. She's so cool looking.

Neuvilette played nice in the trial run. But I don't need any more of the 4* with him and there's too many others coming after I want.

I have gems to spare. I just need to be convinced that grabbing him will be a meaningful inclusion to my account. Rizzley will probably be the same. So far I'm hearing that he's decent but not all-powerful, and I wasn't fond of him in the trial.

It's weird but I'm somehow more interested in this ongoing Narscissenkreuz world quest story than the archon quests.

From what I understand, Neuvilette's situation is that he is very strong individually but doesn't really have teammates that take full advantage of him? I'd imagine that will change though, kinda like how early Sumeru was.

Also yeah I haven't done the new world quest besides a little of the research institute but the 4.0 NK quests were seriously incredible

I'm still waiting on beta news to figure out how important Neuvilette will be for Furina. I'm sure he will be good, but hopefully before his banner rotates out I have a good answer as to whether I'll regret missing him.

Enjoying the way the world quests tie together for sure. There better be an impressive use for these drained conch shells I've been accumulating though.

I'd like to get Neuvillette on his rerun cus he looks incredible and was fun on the trial. But gotta guarantee Furina for now.

The teleport beacon right below the port of entry starts unlocked, I think. Not sure how far you have to be in the story for it but I think they added it for everyone so newer players can do events? Unlike Inazuma there's nothing stopping you from just walking there, even though it's a hell of a trip going through Sumeru.

Edit: looked it up and yeah, if you've completed the Mondstadt archon quests, it should open the teleporter on the map so just look through the void until you find it

Haha... It took some searching but yes I was able to teleport to the northern area. I did explora most of Sumeru previously but hadn't done any of the quests.

I'm really loving the new update where you can credit for doing commissions without actually doing them but for doing other activities instead.

Of course, now I'm realizing I may have skipped doing some some that unlock the remaining quests in Inazuma.

You only get one NPC sidequest commission per day, and I think it's always the 4th one on the list, so what I've been doing is doing that quest and then getting exploration/quest credit for the rest.

All I understand about this system currently is that I did some exploring one day, and then realized I didn't need to do any of my commissions. But I don't know the particulars of how it works.

From what I've gathered, small quests (including reputation quests) are worth 1 commission. AQ/Story/World quests might be more. Chests and oculi are worth 0.5 a commission each. And also redeeming event rewards gives anywhere from 0.5-1 idk, but that means you can complete event objectives and wait to redeem them to complete dailies.

I don't why I never used coop to run through the weekly trounce domains but I've done it this week and last. It's so much easier (not to mention faster) when you pair up with others and don't struggle to beat some of the more annoying ones at the max level.

I forget coop even exists. Only time I ever used it was like the 1 or 2 events that forced it
