You ever really want to play an old game and there is like no way to play it

Nope. I keep all my old systems, so any time I want to replay an older game, Im already good to go

Some old sport games from my childhood on PC, so I can play with my favourite players from my youth

Dude, same. I had the SNES version back in the day, and didn't even know that there was an NES version until the original Animal Crossing.

One theory I read was that the SNES version wasn't released in Japan.

A lot of older PC games are outright incapable of running on moderns PCs, because they were designed around the slower processors that older PCs had. They can run way too fast and break down with today's high-speed processors.

At best, you would have to set up a virtual PC inside your PC in order to try to play them.

Or you know just cap the frame rate in Nvidia Control Panel or AMD Adrenaline etc.

KOTOR is the only thing Ive run into that wouldnt just work out of the box, but I cant remember why.

Learn how to solder and replace capacitors. That'll be the primary thing that will fail on cart based systems. Do that and the systems will outlive you.

With the first couple cd based console gens, caps and cd drives are the points of failure. There are cd drive replacements for those consoles that allow you to run games from sd cards instead. That will prolong the console's life. Course that's getting into non-legal methods.

Not in all cases. There's this one particularly stubborn game where the "fix" is to play up to a certain point and then use a different save file after the one part.

Oh man I remember this. I liked their cheap indie games they had. Miner Dig Deep got me into mining games.

Was it called Marble Ultra Blast or something like that?

The only failures I ever had were on a Sega Genesis (not the original one, but the more sleek one) where the power jack basically melted somehow where you couldnt plug power in anymore, and a PS2 I accidentally pulled off the dresser when the controller cable got stuck on my leg, and it landed on its top, which fucked up the drive and made me scared it would mess up discs as it made a bad noise when trying to play a game.

I made a couple of RPG Maker games way back in the early-mid 2000s that I would love to play again, but the computer on which I had housed them crashed. One was lost entirely, the other, to my recollection, had very minimal online exposure and likely only exists in my memories.

Guitar Hero needs a reboot with new controllers.

They tried that with Live a couple years ago. It flopped HARD... but going with a subscription/play what's "live" like a radio instead of traditional dlc didn't help, plus the gameplay changed enough that the old guitars wouldn't work.

Mad Catz partially went under because of plastic instruments.

Harmonix partnered with PDP for RB4 before dropping out after a couple years.

It's unlikely we'll see any kind of reboot; the plastic instrument fad is long gone. And I say this as a dude who owns all the games and instruments - including the literal real Strat guitars that Mad Catz turned into game controllers and the light show/fog machine Stage Kit - and still buys new RB4 songs. I have a library of over 1600 tracks and use my actual ekit to play drums in the game. If you wanna play plastic instruments, get RB4 and hunt Goodwill for used controllers.

THUG 2 is my favorite Tony Hawk game in the series to this day for its numerous customization options (at least, at the time).

This. Some of the ones I want to play are purely nostalgia based but they all use flash player. Like Cartoon Cartoon Summer Resort. And the adult swim flash games.

You might be able to hunt down a key for Poker Night 2 on a reseller site. Even though it's not up for direct purchase steam almost always allows you to claim keys.
