When most of the people "angry" with tc are just shitposters who don't like her more (recent) left (ish) takes on various topics, maybe most of the "anger" is just as fake as the stories she's told, but more malicious.

To bring this back to a little more positivity, I will say transitioning literally saved my life. I was on the verge of suicide last year, no joke. It was that bad. But now I'm happier with myself than any point in my life, and there's no way I'll ever go back.

I think a lot of the anger directed at TC is a result of not fully understanding the gravity of realizing your gender identity doesn't align with the gender you were assigned. That's a huge part of the reality you've been living just shattered, and different people are going to handle it in different, sometimes not so healthy ways. I engaged in incredibly toxic behavior that almost cost me my relationship at one point, but did a 180 and grew as a person once I sorted my identity out.

It's understandable to be skeptical of TC after all this, but she didn't commit some mortal sin that can't be forgiven

Yes. Eventually I got so into my persona as a woman here, I realized I didn't just want to have a fake life as a woman. I wanted a real life as a woman. But boy, was that a rough road.

I will say, I dramatically underestimated how effective HRT is.

Well they are right in the sense that I have no connection to you or was invested in your story as much as others were. I generally was being a dip shit in the sense that I was annoyed with all the posters being so accepting and I wanted to see a little more backlash instead of constant praise given the circumstances. I really have no business here and I can admit that when people make me aware. bsp has a habit of doing that and I'll go oh shit he's right I need to do better lol.

Not necessarily. I've already given the perspective of someone who is also trans but knows the gravity of how our actions (especially in relation to being trans) can affect how people not already on our side could see us. My anger was more about potential damage to the community as a whole.

Like I also said, though, I'm willing to let it go since she's acknowledged what I've been saying. I'm open for support in the future if needed.

I have a medical question. The middle finger on my right hand occasionally becomes slightly numb, This has been going on for a year or so. I donated platelets on Saturday, and after, the numbness lasted the rest of the weekend. I just made an appointment with my PCP. Could this be related to my valve disease, or my heart block?

Oh no, I am beyond disgusted with Trump, his supporters, and the enablers in the GOP who let him get away with all this. They also made my life a living hell during COVID with their ivermectin / HCQ nonsense.

And that's even before they decided trans people should be "eradicated from society" (literally their words, at CPAC).

I'm kind of similar, actually. I used to switch up just about every year, but I've hung onto my Note 10 Plus for a few years now. I might got Z-Fold in the future, or just go with Samsung's regular line.

TBH I don't have enough info to give you an answer, but if it's just your middle finger I suspect it's a nerve impingement either in your carpal tunnel or the ulnar nerve exposure on your elbow. But I can't say for sure.

Then you had to keep all your made up stuff straight. Obviously that wasn't healthy, it just made this place an extra source of stress for you. Good that you seem to have realized this was bad and changed. I hope you never go back.

I don't know how honest you are able to be in your real life. Obviously it depends a lot on where you are and what kind of people you have around you. But if you can be yourself IRL that's great, but no matter what, I hope you can at least see these forums as a place where you can just be open about who you are from now on.

I'm not presenting at home or at work, but I present everywhere else. I don't really have much longer, though, since I'm already at 38C for bust size and... that's pretty hard to hide. Dysphoria Hoodies are great except it's 105 F in Oklahoma.

That angle I can understand. It's extremely unfair, but we're not really allowed to make the same mistakes as other people. The political climate is so toxic, that people are looking for any reason to paint the trans community in a bad light, even just with the actions of a few people. So I get why it might be frustrating for someone's journey to be turned into this whole fake saga. It's also one of the reasons there was some discussion about how gunpla's behavior makes us look.

But honestly, we don't move past that by shitting on each other. People are going to demonize us even if every single one of us are picture perfect 24/7. That energy is better spent helping those that are struggling imo

tbqh as someone who has "flip-flopped" on their gender identity and sexual orientation for nearly 3 decades, i find the notion that being trans or going through any amount of gender identity crisis means you have to make a decision and stick to it, otherwise "legitimate" trans people might not be taken seriously, to be pretty indistinguishable from garden variety transphobia in terms of ultimate damage to the community you claim youre protecting

theres no "right" way to transition, you can be cis one day, trans the next, and vice versa
not figuring it out, either through choice or inability is okay
having a semi-private semi-anonymous personal crisis on a dying message board isnt going to make waves in society

i understand wanting to be accepted for who you are, but limiting the ways in which others can be aint a great way to go at it
