There was a moment, near midnight. I was doing locums shifts at an outlying hospital. It was freezing rain outside. I had to find a private physician meeting room, close the door, and literally sit under the table and cry. And I cried for several hours. I had just come out to my best friend, who was supportive, but I told him I was too afraid to transition, because my family wouldn't understand.

i'm not trans, but i can relate to the idea of creating an online persona to deal with inner turmoil

i used to lie about myself when i was a kid because i was so lonely and hated myself. once i stopped lying to myself and told the truth about myself i started being a lot happier, even if i did lose some friends in the process. it ended up having a defense mechanism of lying was more stressful than being myself anyways

what happened to this topic to get it so many posts lol. Like ok... TC is trans, so are damn near most of the women here it seems. Dunno what argument is happening in the comments

The really weird part is when I realized not only am I transgender, but that technically makes me lesbian as well. Sorry dad, I'm trans and gay.

Well, except for bra shopping. That is a huge pain in the ass.

For the longest time, I just used sports bras because they have general sizing, but I eventually measured myself and got actual fitted bras. But even then, shopping for them was a pain.

If you're a doctor your not likely to be wearing dark blue nursing scrubs, and if the organization you practice for was cool with that you'd likely be wearing a white coat to differentiate yourself as a doctor.

So... There's my skepticism. The mods think I'm calling you out for lying about being trans, I don't think you're a doctor. Especially since any physician probably isn't going to post things on some random ass forum that could get them doxxed, not to mention have the time to thank every supportive person throughout the day for posting while they're on rotation.

It's fucking insane that people will turn on their own flesh and blood that sprung forth from their loins, over something like gender or orientation. They care so much about some bullshit religion or politics that their child being happy literally pisses them off. To only love your children if they "agree" with your personal views is bullshit.

Even if these things were a choice, which they aren't, it's so cruel and heartless to disown someone over.

Parents will tell their kids "you can be anything you want to be in this world, you just have to work towards it", and then a lot of them will hear from their child that they want to transition and go "no, not like that".

Anyway, I'm not familiar with all the "lies" or whatnot, but they don't seem malicious. You always struck me as a decent sort.

As someone with a trans spouse and who is also technically somewhere on the trans spectrum themselves (although it could just be outright body disassociation; who knows!), I certainly understand things being tumultuous and/or confusing.

CE and message boards were basically my only way to "live" as a woman, even though it wasn't real. I didn't know what else to do in order to feel affirmed.

Now that I'm transitioning, I just want to be authentically myself. And I can finally call myself a woman and really mean it.

Topics like this remind me of the good people that are here. :)

I just want to add that I have so much joy in the fact that I can post my pictures without any shame. I'm proud of how my transition is going and I'm proud of being the authentic real me.

Although, I will say my goal chest size was 38B in 2 years. I hit that in 3 months. HRT is wild.

Interesting, that's how I described laser tattoo removal. I'm going in for my 2nd session of hair removal next week and I really did expect getting popped in the face to be worse, but it's quite manageable
