Pros:
*Fantastic character story telling.
*Great world building.
*Amazing voice acting and believable behaviors of characters and NPCs.
*Many ways to play the game, which actually meaningfully changes the game (like you can pick between x and y, and if you pick x, you literally lose an entire game worth of y; thats amazing that devs are willing to throw away all the work and effort that they spent in y).

Cons:
*Main storyline is almost nonexistent Im in Act II, and current task is to get to the tower; theres no rhyme or reason to do so, except a bunch of people are telling you to go there to solve their problems. I never played BG1 or 2, so that might be why theres some loss of context, but even simple thing like why is everyone wanting to go to Baldurs Gate? Whats there? Is never even touched on or answered.
*Game plays soooooo slow. Characters move so slow, and combat is so damn slow.
*Most battles are unnecessarily stacked against you, and you cant just blow past them. I get it- you want me to think and use tactics (I have the high ground!). But if its like that for almost every single freaking battle, it gets boring and tedious.
*I dislike the inventory system.
*I seriously dislike the clicking. I play this on PC and ROG Ally, and controller playing is so much better vs clicking.

So far, I like Witcher 3 better.

I'm sure there's a plot-related reason the game is pushing you there, but it is the biggest city on the Sword Coast, and the namesake of the game.

There is a difficulty select option, you know. My friends and I are playing on Tactical, and it's pretty rough, but if you don't enjoy the combat you can just turn it down.

Oh yea, I understand its the namesake of the game. I figured someone would tell me what it actually is, except that everyone wants to go there.

True. Is it faceroll easy if you put it to the least difficulty?

Don't know, I've never tried it on the lowest difficulty. But the difference between balanced and tactician is fairly significant, so I imagine it's worth trying.

only thing i dislike is the cinematic dialogue stuff. especially since i often misclick on one of the party members or other npcs when i'm trying to click on small objects while moving.
i prefer reading non-important text at the top of a character's head or from a window box if it is important (with no voice acting). the former is just wayyy more efficient man especially when you are on a mission to talk to all the npcs and not knowing which ones are important. just click and run past them if they got nothing to say.

also i'm often reading ahead of the dialogue and right clicking the mouse to skip through stuff which is sorta clunky. sorta makes me feel like i'm missing out on something. i don't care for acting performance in games tbh.

i dislike using a controller tbh. i've been playing entirely with a mouse and no keyboard. i can drink and eat stuff while playing =].

combat is fun. i feel slight headrush when i survive

oh wait i do have one other dislike. its the fact that the highlight feature doesn't highlight everything. didn't notice this till a few hours later when i discovered that i was still able to interact with unhighlighted objects. there is a mod that fixes this tho

I thought it was pretty clear why you need to get to the towers. Ketheric Thorm is there and is doing Bad Shit, and you need to stop him from doing that. And for the city, the Absolute is building an army and plans to attack it, and you need to get there to stop them.

Yeah, I can't imagine playing on anything other than tactical, as that's where the real challenge is. Otherwise, it seems more the case that a person struggling doesn't really understand the systems or the options open to them.

Most D&D campaigns come with the stipulation/presumption that your character will willingly participate in the adventure for one reason or another. If you made a custom character, you can consider those reasons your own. Point being, you don't play D&D as someone who isn't a willing adventurer (unless you want to be an unwilling adventurer who still adventures for some reason or another)

Oh. I was expecting like a backstory like Witcher or a personal reason to do these things.

Witcher and the Bioware stuff are a different breed entire from true table top role playing games. The former are more like regular action adventure games with common rpg tropes slapped on the. D and D demand you make up a backstory for your character before you play.

If you want that, playing an origin character is also an option.

Origin characters have backstory and motives for possibly returning to BG. For custom characters, it's up to you.

I mean, if you wanted a backstory, you should have played as an origin character. This isn't the game's fault, they literally gave you this option.

Everything you are mentioning here seems to be a you problem. You are bad at the game and don't understand it. There are legitimate criticisms of the game, of any game, because no game is perfect, but these aren't them.

I played divinity 2 ego dacronis not too long ago. Definitely had the stacked against you feeling. BUT it did make me appreciate the class options more.
