I have a ton of empathy. Empathy doesn't mean you have to feel cheer someone for not being able to handle the adult world and then trying to weaponize their disappointment against others by blaming them for self-harm and accusing them of "sexual harassment" (which, unless I missed something, consisted of someone using the word "bitch" and saying "cool your tits," which is not even a female-specific saying). I feel bad that the person seemingly lacked the social skills and managerial skills to handle the job, but also lacked the maturity to just find another job because she had the expectation that this job was a "dream come true."

This feels like a parody criticism of Linus. He thought this was his dream job but has struggled to handle the workload and lacks the maturity, social skills, and managerial skills to keep people happy.

It doesn't excuse the behavior and the treatment of their workers though. It seems like Linus and team is so used to their small company dynamic that they don't know how to behave in a bigger company. Their HR being runned by upper management of 2 people is also really weird.

There's a reason why they're barely out of "Start-Up" company phase and need Tarren Tong, somebody with real Corporate Experience to shape & guide them into a "Mature & Professional Company".

Linus is TOO Young & In-Experienced, he's the 2nd / 3rd oldest & experienced person on the staff.

That tells you that everybody else is VERY young and doesn't have much life / work culture experience in comparison.

That's why he hired a CEO he could trust, his former mentor at NCIX.

Somebody that is more mature and has more life experience.

What do you think you're gaining by making excuses for them like this?

There's a whole video of "what's it like to work for LTT" and the #1 answer is overworked and rushed (then the obvious, but we love it here!!!). Obviously a very toxic workplace. The "just quit if you don't like the treatment" crowd and the "just move if you don't like the politics" crowd are awfully similar.

Some folks are more compatible with that "Go Go Go" mentality & life-styles than others.

Not everybody is going to fit in with every workplace culture.

That's part of life, finding out where you fit in and find it comfortable.

Just like some people like living in the Country-Side, others like the Sub-burbs, others prefer the Hustle & Bustle of a DownTown City-scape.

Not every life-style will fit everybody.

Expansionism regularly turns dreams in to nightmares in the job landscape. People regularly overreach thinking more money means more happiness, but in reality they they're choosing between a job and joy, but the only reason that decision hits as heavy as it does is because they never see it coming.

Also, to be clear, the employee laid out specific claims with exact situations that occurred, and he replied that they are meaningless without concrete examples, which were already given. When she said she was grabbed inappropriately repeatedly, he said it was a poor personality fit. I could go on.

Sexual harassment and a cultural demand for overworking are not just "poor fits." Shit, it isn't just Madison who complains about the breakneck pace.

There was a LTT video not that long ago that spoke about what employees thought about working there and nearly every person said the pace was affecting their ability to make quality content.

It's no surprise that their lack of quality control / overworking their employees has resulted in the recent call outs from Gamers Nexus and the LTT community itself.

Other than the sexual harrassment, the poor workplace stuff was pretty well known before this, so not that far fetched for this to be very accurate. With how much Linus shits on other companies for treating their employees and lying to the customers, it just makes him look so much worse.
