Not so much the vegan part that is a deal breaker, it's the immediately pressuring a stranger to possibly change who they are part that is a red flag.

I wouldn't call fast food burgers and pepperoni high quality protein sources either. My doctor recommended I eat beans instead of red meat to lower my cholesterol. I wouldn't mind at all as long as she didn't. I actually respect quite a bit vegans and vegetarians because I think the reasons they have for it are rather just. If she were to help me replace meat that'd be pretty cool.
