It's like they thought they were in some small town where patronage was really low - or - they just had over-inflated egos.

I would just ask them to elaborate.

If none of them know, then I'm going to ask him one more time to clarify.
If he doesn't, then I just serve other customers until he actually wants to tell me what his order is.

This is a good answer, I have no tolerance for people who walk into an establishment looking for a fight.

You did say clarify, so I am tempted to make an Unfiltered Beer or Wine joke, but I wouldn't offer one up to someone acting like a douche, as, I like Unfiltered's.
