Welcome to Night Vale
Blaseball
kinda sorta some of those analog horror videos

Basically like, multiple weird terrible eldritch cosmic horror type things are happening with such frequency that they've become somewhat mundane, and everybody just kinda rolls with it. Things are Weird. There COULD be body horror and gore, but it's not really presented graphically, and probably a lot of people die (or worse) but they're usually offscreen cannon fodder

New name, new gender, same great Bolo flavor!

I wonder if Spontaneous counts on the lighter end, just with conditioning towards random exploding instead of eldritch beasts and gods.

I personally think it just falls under the umbrella of surreal horror or sometimes I see mundane horror used.

I think Night in the Woods fits.

World of Horror is definitely a great rec for this.

Definitely look up the works of Trevor Henderson and Eduardo Valds-Hevia too.

Nah, cosmic horror is pretty distinct from this, but it shares some elements. In traditional cosmic horror, eldritch entities are treated as anything but mundane.

Also, when you ask for recs, just... in general? Books? Movies? Video games? Other media?

In order:
- John Dies at the End and its follow ups (has a movie too, but it's solidly meh.) Clive Barker if you wanna go a bit more disturbing.
- Pick your poison from a Stephen King movie or one of the more outlandish M. Night Shamalyan, or David Lynch. Cabin in the Woods is kinda cool for this, too.
- World of Horror has been recommended. Graveyard Keeper is a gothic Harvest Moonlike, though it's a bit heavy on the grind in comparison. Some older adventure games can count, too- Phantasmagoria 2 and Darkseed spring immediately to mind.
- Black Hole as a graphic novel, though the weirdness in there is an allegory for AIDS. Junji Ito graphic novels also count, and were largely an inspiration for World of Horror.
