Was having an alarmingly in depth conversation today about this, and literally blurted out Big Purse as a reason that it's 2023 and women are still being subjected to tiny ass pockets in pants/dresses, despite the ability to cram pockets on leggings, arguably the most form fitting pant out there, yet they can't simply put them in clothing? How is this still a thing? I knew about this issue in the 00's, and a little in the 10's, but kinda stopped hearing about it, especially with the big legging/yoga pant explosion in that decade, but listened to a comedy podcast today and June Diane still complaining about it alerted me to the idea that it's still a huge issue. Now she's rich, so maybe she's not shopping at Walmart for her pants, but I assume they're still struggling to fit a quality sized pocket on those pants.

So is it Big Purse that's stopping the innovation of adding a pocket to women's clothing? Is Louis Vuitton holding designers off balcony's to prevent women from not needing a purse anymore?

I'm going to start a business that sells dresses with pockets, and set up a hidden moat around our headquarters so that when agents of Big Purse comes to the headquarters to kill my designers, they fall into the moat and get eaten by the sharkodile.

I kinda wish I could out with one of the purses I have. Being hairy with a frilly purse in the Bible Belt is going to not end well.

I was thinking of making a business called Pockets on Everything, and just make hats, dresses, shoes, pants, belts, and shit with pockets.

Id say a combination of Big Purse and tiny pockets being seen as more fashionable on womens clothing.

Tangential subject, but why are womens clothing sizes so stupid? For men, pants are just a waist measurement and a leg measurement, and they come in regular, slim, and relaxed, etc. For womens pants, their size is a magic number that doesnt mean anything, with discriminators like petite etc. stuck after it sometimes. I know so many women who complain about clothes not fitting properly, so what theyre doing obviously isnt working.

How does a 0 work at all? That's nothing. That's not wearing pants at all. You wear a zero you're in your underwear. -1? No underwear. Why or how do we tolerate this shit?

Mens pockets are getting smaller as well. Its getting more common to see men carry satchels as an accessory.

fun fact, men's pants sizes are just as fucking stupid because the actual measurement is NEVER what it says it is. depending on brand the same 32w/32l slim fit might be just right, falling off, or cutting me in half. Fuck even the same size, fit, AND BRAND, if it's a different fucking color has a different actual fit. And these are allegedly ACTUAL FUCKING MEASUREMENTS.

This is actually MORE infuriating to me than "this brand's idea of the random number-scale for sizing is different from this brand's!" because IT'S A LITERAL FUCKING MEASUREMENT ON THE SAME FIT AND BRAND HOW IS IT DIFFERENT WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?!

You could always carry a tote bag, that's what a lot of my friends carry instead of purses

Theyre not wrong. Ive been on Reddit long enough to see this topic come up, and other women have mentioned that fashion does play a role in it.

Im sure hed punch you in the face and call it a satchel if you said that to him but that was a purse.

Men can continue to buy clothing from whatever era they choose to remain in. LL Bean is still a thing in 2023. Women have to endure trend shifts. For years you couldnt find womens jeans that didnt come with holes.
