This is the most awkward post I've read in a while.

When I was a kid we went to eat out at a local restaurant and my mom found a baby gecko floating in her ice water. It definitely wasn't there when they served it so it must have fallen from the ceiling. It was unresponsive but breathing. They let me keep it and nurse it back to health. Turned out to be a female. I named her Frosty and she lived in giant terrarium in my bedroom for the next twelve years :3

Well, I hide that I think Trump is a giant lying scumbag, and the Republican party is corrupt to the core. Because I live in a rural area, where people blindly worship conservatism, and I really don't feel like entering a debate where the other side can't or won't listen to reason.

Nah. Theres no hate in me so I have nothing to worry about there, and sure I like games like madden but with stuff like that I really couldnt care less what people think.

For example, I wasnt really a fan of the show, but the first few seasons of Big Bang had Rajs character be very one dimensional, and it worked.

I always felt in many cases, especially early on, one dimensional LGBTQ+ characters were more about a writer checking a box than actually caring about that characters development.

Lazy things can still work.

An LGBT+ character can be all about checking the box. But so can an attractive male/female character or a quirky 'comedy' character, for example.

Bad writing is bad writing. One-note characters and clichs abound. But it's the LGBT+/minority characters who are always singled out as 'forced'.

I'd just rather those characters have some sort of depth to them, beyond them doing "gay things" for an lol.

I don't know if I'm explaining myself properly, but LGBTQ+ characters that lack depth bother me more than the "dumb jock in the schoolyard" character that lacks depth does, only because it feels (to me) than many times (and now I'm talking in circles) that they're just there because the writer feels he needs all creeds and colors represented. And they have been underrepresented or misrepresented for so long, that the last things that should be still happening is for them to be "token" characters.

There's many, MANY shows that I feel properly represent, but far too many that don't.

Yep. I remember people were pulling that shit even for Flak and Shrapnel in Fallout 3, saying they were too in-your-face about it. Lol, they live together, but apart from that you have to intentionally go digging into their business to find out they're officially an item.

But these are the people who DO go digging for that kind of thing, and are both simultaneously pleased and outraged when they find it... outraged because it's there, but pleased because it gives them something to have their jimmies rustled about.

There's a user still posting on CE to this very day who I distinctly remember bitching about gay characters existing in New Vegas on the NV board. As in roughly a dozen gay characters total out of over 300 basically amounted to the erasure of straight people.

The first time a co-worker brought up Dangonronpa to me I was shocked cause I'd never heard anyone IRL talk about it, and even to my other co-workers that I knew played games, Dangonronpa's so niche that I never even bothered bringing it up.

Also much as I love it it's fucking batshit insane and not really for a "mainstream" audience anyways tbh.

Beliefs or opinions? In general, no [I do not need to hide my opinions or beliefs]. At work, yes [I do need to hide some opinions and beliefs]. The beliefs I hide arent very interesting, just that people need to read, look around, and stop copping attitude when we catch them trying to be lying or fronting to be cheap, that and we hate people who use coat check.

I am an atheist working in a very conservative community, so I keep that under lock and key.

Depends on where I am.

If I'm in the deep south... Klan territory, you bet I hide my religion.

I avoid discussions about the number of 3 pointers being shot in the NBA.

I learned the hard way to keep a lot of stuff to myself, because im tired of dealing with people that spin anything you say or do into some crazy, unhinged, dumbass conspiracy that is nowhere near what you as a person actually said/did/believe. Its tiring and im getting too old for that shit.
