I read on the wiki and on the BattleBots subreddit that these episodes (aside from the one with the season 6 winner and the Tournament of Champions) were filmed alongside the filming of the top 8 from season 6. That means none of the top 8 from season 6 will be participating except for the bot that won the season and automatically qualified for the Tournament of Champions. Copperhead and Riptide both made the top 8, so they won't be in this side series.
