I really liked the main story of Yakuza 6. I don't think the substories are nearly as good. I think a big part of that is that they're all voiced but the character models are all so lifeless in their animations.

Also it's wild to me that so many new fans of the series, such as myself, went straight from the first game to the sixth lol

The dragon engine looks really good but I agree that sometimes the facial animations are a little wooden. Hopefully Judgment does it better

They slowly improve over the years of using DE. But honestly they never get to a really seamless place. There are always going to be some baked-in animations that they don't get rid of.

Honestly I find them charming.

Judgment is like, leaps and bounds better than how 6 did it. I think I'd chalk it up to their first shot on the engine. We lost a lot of things with that, like you can't equip weapons, some minigames were lost, heat actions were lost etc. But slowly they've been adding them back.

idk what kind of hypnotherapy they put me under, but I always crack a smile everytime I see a reused animation I recognize >_> I remember seeing Judgment still using the same chase animation from Yakuza 3 lol
