I was pretty far. I don't know if I want to do all that again or wait for the new one. What would you do?

Has this happened to any of you with any game? It's always devastating but the first time this ever happened to me I started saving obsessively since then and it rarely ever happened again.

Happened to me in ogre battle after I'd managed to get a fucking undead ring as a random reward in the second level, held onto it the whole fucking game, eventually combined it with the guaranteed story undead ring to have two liches in my army.

Yea that blows. In modern games I stagger several saves or more. Just an old habit. I never rely on just auto save.

Depends how far you were and if ya own a Switch. I'd probably wait for the remake and try something else. As for my case ummm....

Man, Ogre Battle had the best feelings when you got something like that, or the Trade Ticket. I love lich Warren

My cousin when he was a toddler pulled my Majora's Mask out of the N64 while I was playing it. I had everything up to the stone tower. It got corrupted and I lost everything.

Never played it again lol

Sure. Memory cards die after a while.
I don't think I even have a SSBM save on any of them at this point.

A lot of the time when this happens though, it gets me thinking about the game more. Sometimes that recurring thought turns into interest in replaying the game. Not doing all the shit like S ranking every level but going back and giving it a fair re-evaluation.

If it's my first run and the game takes my save away, that's gonna permanently damage my image of the game. There's not much coming back from that.

Did not expect to see Ogre Battle mentioned. I am sure I lost save data on actual snes and nes hardware.....oh I got a recent one.

I got to chapter two or three in Trails to Azure and PC finally died. This was before it was available on Steam. It is kinda obvious what some stuff happens but I have not outright spoiled myself.

I'd rather try that again than get Trails into Reverie, but I am in no real hurry.

Yeah, I mean if it's a 1st run and I like the game I definitely want to finish it but Damm what a waste of time. Sometimes I manage to get back to where I was faster than I thought and then it isn't so bad.

Was playing it on SNES Classic Edition. I was pretty sure I had a manual save and the save state. Manual save is level 4 somehow and save state is pretty much gone.

I might do Trails from Zero at some point but never played a game in the series.

People will tell you to start with Trails in the Sky 1, but honestly yea you miss out on learning some relationships, but Trails to Zero was really good it kinda inspired me in ways to push through the rest of Cold Steel IV.

Just don't start in the middle of an arc. Because unlike Final Fantasy every game is a direct sequel.

I played Trails in the Sky 1 first. I like slow games or at least I thought I did but most of that game is really boring. Sky 2 seems like it picked up a lot, but I just spoiled myself on that game. Trails to Zero gets you up and running quick enough and the world building appeals a person can try Cold Steel (though omg it is too long) or fall back to Sky.

Or go really crazy and play something from the Garghav trilogy.

In a sense, it happened to me repeatedly with my PS1 games. I had one of those high capacity memory cards, but didn't know how to actually use it, and thought it was just a normal one that erased itself sometimes. It wasn't until years later I figured out how it actually worked and that I'd been accidentally switching banks.

I've heard this. Good to know.

I just started a fresh file of FF3 (6) while I wallow in sorrow from the deleted file.
