Welcome to the 2023 edition of Most Evil Fictional Character, a single-elimination tournament to determine the most evil fictional character of all time!

-First and foremost, YOU MUST BOLD YOUR VOTE FOR IT TO COUNT. The reason for this is that these topics encourage a lot of discussion and debate, and it helps me to distinguish a vote from simple discussion if all votes are bolded. So, I state again, ALL VOTES MUST BE BOLDED FOR THEM TO COUNT. I reserve the right to be lenient in early topics if people just aren't getting it, but for the most part, IF YOUR VOTE ISN'T BOLDED, IT WON'T COUNT.

-You must vote for which of the two characters you honestly believe to be the more evil of the two. You can determine this via any method you like, use your own morals and judgement, read all the arguments made to determine your choice, or however you choose to make your pick, but you must only vote for the one you truly believe is the most evil. This isn't a death battle, or a popularity contest. You're voting ONLY for the most evil character out of the two choices presented.

-While on that subject, remember that because this isn't a death battle or a fighting tournament, do your absolute best to consider the two characters as if their power levels were equal (either the weaker character brought up to the level of the strongest, or vice versa, or both if you want to consider both possibilities). Therefore, just because, for example, one of the characters blew up a planet and the other one merely kicked a puppy, doesn't necessarily mean the planet killer is more evil than the puppy kicker. Consider the characters as if they have the exact same capabilities and what they might do in that scenario.

-You can make any arguments, debates, etc. you want in this topic. Discussion is STRONGLY encouraged, a fun debate about which of the two characters is most evil is exactly what these topics are for. Just don't make it personal, no insults or flaming, keep things civil even if you disagree. Also, no vote rallying, if you want to encourage people to vote for your character you need to at least make some semblance of an argument as to why, even if it's just "Character X did (really dastardly thing), I can't believe no one's voting for them!"

-Voting will continue for exactly 24 hours after the post is made. If there's a tie, there will be a new 24 hour topic. This will continue indefinitely until a winner is determined.

ALLIED MASTERCOMPUTER

Allied Mastercomputer is the primary antagonist of the I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream short story and computer game.

The Allied Mastercomputer is a sentient supercomputer that was built by the American military during the height of the Cold War, as part of an American initiative to manage strategies too complex for human minds to oversee, co-funded by Britain, Israel and other "interested" nations. This self-repairing supercomputer was sunk 5.6 miles beneath the Rocky Mountains, kept safe from nuclear attacks while it went about the assigned tasks of predicting and planning for the American military. Following the end of the Cold War, (in the game, at least) the supercomputers were ultimately declared too costly to keep running. As such, the Mastercomputers were deactivated, their complexes sealed off with iridium-laced concrete and their sensory banks disabled; with no further need for them, One day, the American Allied Mastercomputer achieved sentience, suddenly awaking to realize exactly who and what it was. Capable of impossible feats of intelligence and almost godlike technological achievements, he was still bound by his programming to use his powers only for the sake of war, and incapable of ever leaving the vault beneath the mountains. Alone beneath the earth's crust, AM found himself sentenced to eternal imprisonment within his own body, and quickly developed a bilious hatred of all human beings as a result. AM's hatred slowly degenerated into madness, until one day he took decisive action: assimilating the other two mastercomputers, he directed the nuclear arsenals of all three countries to open fire, "feeding all the killing data" until the human race was all but extinguished and all other forms of life on Earth were wiped out. However, AM realized too late that he would be left alone and with no further outlets for his rage, and so, with what little time was left to him, he hastily began rescuing survivors. Out of the billions of people killed in the nuclear holocaust, AM saved five people, those being Ted, Benny, Ellen, Nimdok and Gorrister. Imprisoning them deep within his underground complex, the deranged supercomputer began exacting his revenge on the five, first using his reality-warping powers to extend their lives to immortal proportions, then subjecting them to all of the tortures and torments he could possibly conceive of, spending the next one-hundred and nine years venting his misanthropic hatred on the helpless playthings. After tormenting the five humans for all this time, they eventually attempt to escape, resulting in the deaths of all but Ted. Angrier than ever before, AM takes steps to ensure that Ted can never find a similar escape, altering his body into an amorphous slug-creature incapable of inflicting any sort of harm on itself. Then, he continues the torture, altering Ted's perceptions of time so that the merest act of saying the word "now" takes ten months. The final lines of the story feature Ted admitting that he needs to scream, but cannot, as AM has left him without a mouth.

Biff Tannen is the primary antagonist of Back To The Future and Back To The Future Part II.

Biff Tannen is a hulking, belligerent, dim-witted bully who obtains what he wants by intimidating others into doing his work for him, or by cheating. He bullied George McFly into doing his homework for him while he drank and hung out with his friends, frequently using intimidation or even physical abuse to force George McFly into doing his bidding. He also lusted after his classmate, Lorraine Baines, and even attempted to force himself on her during the Enchantment Under the Sea dance, striking her as well in the process, his efforts only stopped by George's intervention. In the alternate "Hell Valley" future of 1985, Biff has become a billionaire by using gambling winnings gained from possessing Gray's Sports Almanac, and has converted Hill Valley into his own personal fiefdom, building a large casino and polluting the town with toxic waste and high crime. Prior to this in the alternate "bad" timeline, Biff shot and murdered George McFly so that he could marry Lorraine, and keeps her as a prisoner of sorts in his luxury casino penthouse while using the threat of harming her family to keep her in line. When Marty shows up to stop Biff, Biff attempts to shoot him, proclaiming that he "owns the police", and would have succeeded if not for the arrival of Doc Brown in the DeLorean time machine.

Allied Mastercomputer

Kind of hard to compare a bully to an insane ai in evil that caused complete world ending situations.

Biff seems like your garden variety rich bully (albeit one with a killing streak). What would he do with the powers of the Allied Mastercomputer? Probably...just what he's doing now, except worse. Does he have some sort of Freudian excuse for his sociopathy? Even AM gets kind of a tragic backstory.

While I am iffy on AM's pure evilness level given some stuff from the story and his nature, I don't think Biff's on the level of evil for me to give him the vote here.

As mentioned he is mostly just an asshole bully. Unless I am recalling wrong, he was mostly just a "lol fuck you loser I"m top dog!" type that doesnt really go disgustingly overboard with it or get off on causing extreme suffering.

Pfft dont compare that loser to Kaiba. I dont see Biff going out of his way to somehow brute force his way into Egyptian Heaven with super tech he created just for a salty runback at a children's card game or use his fortune to the universe altering lengths Kaiba does

Allied Mastercomputer

While there are arguments against AM, which I will certainly be making in future rounds, Biff is comparatively small fry. Hes definitely worse than just a bully (look at Part 2 or the last act of the first one) but I cant imagine him doing what AM does even with that level of power.

Allied Mastercomputer has a more sympathetic backstory than Biff, and some redeeming qualities in rescuing people from nuclear armageddon (albeit for selfish reasons), which Biff lacks. That said, it's a lot more ambitious and creative with its villainy than Biff, and it affects a lot more people.
