Jasmine is CE's favorite Gen 2 gym leader at 31.87%

I could see Iris getting a decent amount of votes in the second one, maybe Roxie as well. But yeah, Elesa is going to totally run away with this first one. It might have been better to randomize the choices before splitting them into 2 polls instead of just throwing them in order.

I like Lenora and Burgh too, but Elesa is by far the most interesting of these choices even beyond people voting for horny reasons. She has not one but two very striking character designs, she's the only returning gym leader who really shows some development between B/W and B2/W2, and her battle is one of the tougher and more memorable ones in gen 5 with her having Emolga to counter the only weakness of her signature type.

I honestly had forgotten that the first gym had 3 potential leaders

Yeah of this half of Gen 5, Elesa is genuinely the best one even aside from the obvious reason. I do like Clay too though.

The other half is a little more interesting. Skyla is going to win that easily, but both of the Dragon gym leaders are pretty cool. Although I like Iris much more as Champion than as a gym leader.

BW doesn't get enough love. The "tutorial" in BW vs the "TUTORIAL" in say, Sun and Moon are night and fucking day.

The black and white tutorial is decently subtle. The gym challenges you with the type your weak against, but they give you the monkey to shore it up. Basically RPS.

I used the bombastic font to illustrate that Sun and Moon lectures to you every 20 seconds giving the player maybe a cool 30 seconds of agency.

This is true too. Elesa is actually instrumental in Bianca's character development, whereas the previous ones didn't do much outside of talk to you in the overworld. Of these she's definitely the most involved.

I totally forgot about that, but you're right, that's another big point for Elesa that the other gym leaders don't have.

Every generation after 6 has had agonizingly slow tutorials. I never played Sword and Shield, so not sure about that, but Gen 7 was definitely the most grating.

The fact that CE couldn't handle Clair's womanliness <-(this is a word, btw) aside, there is nothing wrong with Jasmine. Should have been Clair or maybe Morty over Jasmine, but Gen 2 leaders were awful, both in terms of personality and battle prowess. But I dunno. Maybe you liked the stupid pink crybaby with the fat cow.

The Cafe dorks are right out. That leaves Lenora, Burgh, Elesa, and Clay as the only viable votes.

Clay is overshadowed by his own town's theme music.

Lenora is cool but what in the fuck is she wearing.

Burgh's hair is trash

That just leaves Elesa
