Match 1 is particularly close, but there's something so compelling about Wily. Also lol I see that the vid for Skyway was uploaded 12 years ago, but the game is still not out.

Great match 1. I've always been a big fan of Wily 1 from Mega Man 7, but Skyway is a new favorite from within the past year or so. I love how the MMX samples are used to make something new. This might be my favorite round 1 match so far.

Oh hey, that's the guy of the eurobeat remixes. This is surprisingly good, and it uses the MMX elements in a very original way. Good candidate to go far. Entrance is such a interesting song to me. It starts with a rather silly sound and builds on it a striking piece. I just gotta love how well used is the repeating notes. Tough match, but MM7 is the way to go.

Spark Mandrill is so damn perfect, I think it represents everything I like about X1. In-your-face composition, catchy melody, kickass guitar, and the drum solo to make the loop is the icing on the cake. Hell yeah, Spark Mandrill rules so hard. Near 10. For Your Winds is really good! Nice vocals and the instrumental stands up on its own while also being very danceable. Good stuff. Hard task to be against Mandrill, but nonetheless a respectable effort.

That's like the second or third corner where I love everything, and it's gonna get worse from here too.

Wily 1 from 7 is in the top 3 of "best Wily 1 songs" for me. Some days it wins over MM2; other times, Flash in the Dark from MM9 takes it.

Spark Mandrill is just... just perfect.

Okay so, 7's Wily 1 is probably my favorite theme in the entire series. There's just so much emotion this song carries. This isn't just your standard 'storm the castle' theme, it's Mega feeling that raw anger for not only being betrayed but by having his creator's life endangered. It's Mega getting tired of the cycle of stopping Wily, Wily escaping, and Wily threatening the lives of innocents. It's Mega thinking about doing the unthinkable, and it's a long walk from Wily 1 to Wily himself.

Match 1's songs are both pretty good, but Wily Stage 1's lead synth is a bit too shrill. The vocal song is fun. Significantly better day than the past few days.

Kinda surprised Skyway is a remix. Definitely feels like something I'd expect to hear in a game. It's already, but it kinda feels like the whole thing is buildup to a climax that never comes? The dark sound of Wily MM7 really does it for me. Gives a great feeling of despair.

Though I'm not a fan of the start of Spark Mandrill, the buildup is handled really well here, evolving into something really cool. Kaze is no Electrical Communication, that's for sure.

rough matches. skyway's biggest shortcoming is that it just feels too much like non-mm music arranged using the soundfont, i do appreciate the composition otherwise. and mandrill is just an unfair song for the 2nd best vocal theme in all of megaman to get handed r1

I love this sound and the use of the MMX soundfont. My Mega Man noob ass would definitely be more than a little convinced that this is from a canon game from that intro. The latter half not so much, I guess? But being a noob I'm not bothered.

It feels like half of this song is build up oop. Would be into this more if just the latter half looped.

Yeah this is good wtf I have run out of things to say about MMX music. I just find this OST too much of a classic to deny it.

I'm not the biggest fan of this vocalist at parts, but the good outweighs the bad. Fun cheesy sound that reminds me of like four or five different songs from the 80s and 90s. I'm definitely a sucker for the "You thought this was a slow song? Lol psyche!" technique. Still voting for Mandrill, but I'm happy I listened to this.

Decent day, I can say for sure that I definitely prefer the OG Wily Stage 1 from MM2. On the other hand, Skyway sounds pretty fun!
