To me thats unrealistic. I doubt somebody could tolerate cutting their own foot off. In reality youd pass out from the pain, go into shock, and bleed out.

I never did like this mindset. Just because it's been out for a long time doesn't mean you should ruin someone's experience. There's always going to be someone who doesn't know the original Star Wars trilogy spoilers, for example.

Wasnt there a real story of a mountain climber having to cut off his own leg off after a bolder crushed it? It was made into a movie with James Franco.
I read his first hand account a long time ago. IIRC the amount of time his arm was pinned basically killed the flesh in his arm already from lack of circulation. So it wasn't as painful when he got around to it as doing the thing in Saw 1 would be.

Well, just because you don't understand it doesn't mean it doesn't affect other people. Like for me, knowing the outcome before it's played out ruins the excitement and I just don't enjoy it as much as I would have. People have different mindsets and outlooks.

That isn't even comparable in any way, shape or form. Anyone that hasn't watched the film will know that's how one of them escapes within 2 minutes of watching the movie. It's more akin to "DId you know Vader kills Palpatine?" than whatever you were going for.

Same

I had a video game still in plastic on a shelf for over a year because someone spoiled the ending. And it was a game I was very much looking forward to

Now on this site despite the rules I understand there's always a risk for spoilers if I go into a topic about said game

What really pissed me off is when someone spoils something in the comments of something unrelated.

Or even if it's just slightly unrelated. I was so pissed I looked up a video guide for a mission in metal gear solid v (struggling with a optional task) and the top comment was about the end game twist. Like just saying it just to say it.

Thats different. Yeah I feel it's a fictional story but it's not presented as one. It's not presented to be entertainment

Hell further more you can't spoil a documentary for me. That's not entertainment to me it's informative

That doesn't answer the question at all.

The saw franchise is about body horror and TC didn't describe anything besides a single type of body horror in it. Post 26 describes a type of spoilers that includes specific information such as character names and when they appear.

If anything my post would be akin to saying that Star Wars, a space opera, is unrealistic because space ships can't travel across galaxies in the blink of an eye like they do in that movie.

That was obviously in response to the terrible analogy I quoted. The fact is every single person watching the movie for the first time upon reading that will know that's how one of the 2 characters handcuffed to a pipe by their ankles escapes. The big question throughout the movie is "How the fuck are they going to get out of this?". Is it a hard thing to figure out by watching a movie called Saw? Nope, but it's literally the culmination of the single trap in the movie. It's not like saying "Hey, remember that death trap which breaks every single bone in the dude's body?" which is a Saw franchise non spoiler.
