I never played it to begin with, I just saw the fallout. So is it actually good or is it just better than it was?

Which had a better comeback, this or No Man's Sky?

It might not be the heady heights initially promised but it is pretty fantastic now.

Many issues fixed, and the story/npcs remain great.

despite the flaws it had, I always thought it was good.

people talk about missing features that were promised, but I didn't follow its development, so I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything.

with this latest update, however, it's a lot better than it used to be.

A Sandevistan Katana build is so much goddamn fun.

I just wish they'd figure out how to make Mantis Blades not suck.

It's good now. Especially if you get the DLC.

I haven't played no man's sky in a while, but I'd say Cyberpunk probably had the better comeback, especially with the anime that really helped.

I'm only playing the lowly PS4 version as my PS5 TV is dead.

Its still fun. Bugs have been significantly decreased but still some present.

The problem with no mans sky for me was the extremely limited inventory space, and emphasis on survival. No mans Sky I find is at its funnest when playing in creative mode but just being a bit self-restrictive. Not a big fan of the heavy emphasis on it's survival aspects, found it a bit too real for me. I like to play video games to escape reality as much as possible, so I like a world that's completely different.

Cyberpunk is great! I keep switching between Starfield and Cyberpunk these days and I dont even care about other games right now.

Cyberpunk is a lot of fun. Just did the River quest line and it was a lot of fun / interesting stuff going on. Really enjoy the micro choices you can make in the missions.

The only people who were, or are, upset about that clearly have no idea how game development works, nor did they follow all the developer interviews where they explained where and why said features were cut.

it was always "good" for what it was, just buggy and not what they fully tried to sell to people. thankfully they managed to improve and fix most of its more lackluster aspects minus the main story interaction. even in that regard the dlc improves even more.

I've always really liked it, despite some issues. I played on PC though and had very few bugs in my playthrough and had a few mods installed later on. The biggest bug I remember was some side quests not being marked complete after finishing them. Also, I only paid like $27 at launch for it (gog version).

It was half a good game in 1.0. I enjoyed the writing, the setting, and much of the gameplay when it actually worked. Frequent bugs, crashes, some perks just straight up being non functional held it back.

They did make everything more fun though, I feel. Hacking used to be you hold Tab. Scroll over a guy. Tell him to kill himself. Repeat. There was a degree of style to be had there. Kind of a fun concept just casually strolling into a place and shutting everyone down. But it got repetitive. Now Hacking is about jumping 30 feet into the air, oveclocking your brain and uploading a mass cyber attack on everything you can see. Collapsing your brain from the sheer volume of data you're processing only for your heart's biomonitor to kick in and start pumping you full of adrenaline to keep you barely stable. The core mechanic is kind of the same. You're still holding tab and killing them with a command. But it's way more exciting this way.

Swords and Knives used to be carrying around a bucket of knives. Throwing them only for it to do poor damage outside of an okay ish DoT effect. Then that knife is consumed and not reclaimable. So you go into your menu to equip another disposable knife... What? Your sword was better off. You could block, you could slash, but that was about it.

Knives are no longer consumable and work on a cooldown system. They're stronger than ever, and have many reset conditions allowing you to toss knives at distant enemies for easy kills before lunging in with your sword. Some throwables Which now has swift dodges, enhanced agility, and can even reflect bullets. You ever kill a sniper by parrying his own bullet back at him? The blend of rushing people down with a blade while dropping distant foes with daggers or tomahawk actually feels properly like a street Ninja. More so that I can air dash, double jump, and sprint around freely. There are so many missions now where I can jump and dash my way to my target. Eliminate the leader and be gone without anyone ever even noticing I was there. True assassin style.

Honestly the changes to Reflexes alone makes parkouring around so fun I sometimes skip driving and just run around on rooftops. They fixed what I didn't like. Made what worked better. And left the pretty good story and setting largely unchanged. I'm pretty damn happy with 2.0.

I've played over a few patches and whilst I do like the changes made, especially with cars not randomly spawning in the middle of nowhere, my biggest issue is endgame.

With all of the attention paid to bugs and stuff, which one could argue should have been sorted a long time ago (yes, there's a lot to be said about the ongoing support, but the game is nearly 3 years old now and still has bug fixes from the original release).

Final missions/endgame spoilers

Spoilers below, I've just tagged the whole thing.

I loved playing the game but I found the final mission and the postgame very, very lackluster. Yes, we we got some surprises along the way which were lovely, but as soon as the story's over, it genuinely feels like the bean counters said "no more money." The world is left hollow, your love interest seems uninterested, and it just seems like a bit of a cop-out given how engaging the story has been so far.

I'd love to fire up CP2077 now and then, drive from my place in the city to where Panam is, but when your love interest turns into a genuine NPC, that doesn't bring me back.

For all the money CDPR have spent on the game and patches etc, if they'd just spent an extra thousand or so adding something radiant to the last character you speak to (I might be wrong here, give me the benefit of the doubt), it'd be so much nicer to play rather than hearing "ah you know, the yuze" for the 536th time.

TLDR: good game, just wish some focus was given to the endgame rather than stuff people have already played.

I'm really liking the perk overhaul they did for 2.0. There's A LOT of diversity as far as how you can build and play your character. They even have perks that allow you to do cool shit with your vehicle, like jump out of a moving vehicle while slowing down time, so you can just drive up to a group of enemies, literally jump out of the car and just spray down a bunch of enemies from mid-air.

Right now, I'm running a Stealthy Pistol/Netrunner build and it's been a lot of fun just popping a group of enemies in the head in quick succession before they can even figure out where I'm attacking from.

Im running a full body/reflex build with melee weapons. I love jumping around like the Hulk and slamming the ground, tanking some hits then popping my blood pump adrenaline rush and smacking everything with my baseball bat or hammer. I thought it was ok pre patch but I got bored and set it aside for a while. This has definitely improved the hell out of the game and I got it for like 30 bucks.
