My vote landed on Sultan because I wanted him to stop playing around (and admittedly also because of the coalition gag. But that part of my reasoning has long since faded since Sultan has not changed his attitude)

But I am saying in that post right there that I feel a lynch on Sultan is still justified because of what he has done.
Its just also that a lynch on Sultan is potentially not the best lynch for the day, as far as information-granting goes.

Its just that to me Sultan is easy to read as scum (or town) and he is wilfully not giving us anything to read now and that is not great.

Sultan has evolved into an entirely different player. You think he's still an easy read?

(Then again Lynching Sultan would still be slightly illuminating if I were to take stock of everyone who did or did not want to lynch him)

Well... that question can be answered if you ignore your own opinions and suspicions and go straight for the person who had the most interactions with players.
You should not do that of course.
Nor do even know who right now would qualify for that position anyway.

The theoretical best lynch would be somewhere in between 'most content' and 'most suspicious'

This has been your lame answer for the day.

The idea of a lynch not giving information RIGHT NOW at this EXACT TIME is a silly paradigm to fall into, because the point of voting to lynch someone should be to apply pressure to get more reactions. We want to vote Sultan to give us actual content, not because we think he is the highest value lynch at this exact time.

And if he chooses to be stubborn and not give any real reads or opinions, then we can choose to lynch based on that behavior being scummy or anti-town, open to discussion. Pressure without actually consequences is meaningless. Pre-empting that now by saying there's no value to lynching him only stifles town discussion and ability to press people.

Plum are you running defense for Sultan right now, not wanting us to ask a player to actually contribute when there's so little content to go off of this game?

And if he does have some role that prevents him from talking, we can question Death for bringing that possibility out of thin air earlier. (I think it was Death anyway.)

Oh right there was that one thing that happened to him quite recently, wasn't there? I didnt pay much attention to mafia around then.
I have a lot of tells on him from games this very year, but has he changed that much since June?

I will say that Sultan does not get to enjoy my usual "I dont want to lynch someone unclaimed" protection.
If he wanted that, he could have given some effort by now.

HI! it's been over 24 hours I will now talk. So doing my only votes thing. Dumey did end up seeming the most opportunistic.

Death seemed to be the most annoyed and understandable coming from death.

Corrik being corrik as always and I think this is the town spectrum based off what he was doing.

Plum I think might be alright.

Ulti I beleive was just trying to get that outta the way early if I'm not mistaken but he seemed to be like let me just do something that maybe people would think im town for. So hence why I was like you know what ulti you deserve a vote here.

Half too hard to read, half the only reason I signed up for this game is it needed one more person and I felt bad.

I still think plum who doesnt really want to play is a replacement level mafia player, but I have no intention of actually doing any serious analyzing until final 7 or lylo

So "we desire" makes sense if someone is speaking for a specific subset of people, in this case the subset of players who are voting for Sultan.

I can appreciate and empathize with Plum's lower level of personal investment in the game. I still think that he was potentially running defense for Sultan there. Just something to note for later I guess.

No one asked me but I think an Ulti lynch might yield the most I dont think its fair to say objective info, but it would arguably yield the most leads. His very quick stress test on BCT could definitely be a scum-scum preemptive strike before we do the same ol BCT omgus routine we always do every game. When you couple this being the first thing Ulti did with BCTs unprecedentedly calm response, yeah, it stands out to me. If BCT is town and has actually changed I think the positive growth deserves recognition, but Id like to hope BCT could forgive a little healthy skepticism.

Another thing Ulti did I find odd to follow. Gotta keep posts shorter because my phone keeps crashing

This game and this community are in part dead because Board 8 has spent 15+ years relying on scanners to deal with inactives, so now people sign up for games to not play them knowing they will almost never get punished for it outside of specials. Its an atrocious meta. Those scanners should be targeting actual suspicious players, not the types that only try hard when they get a cool town power role.

I can already reasonably assume every inactive is scum or town vanilla with like an 80% hit rate, and every active is town power. Is this really what people want mafia to be?

I've asked this of plum prior and he didn't answer, but who do you consider to be inactives at the moment?

Does gamefaqs keep 502ing for anyone else, or is it just me?

I will say Ulti being mad about inactives getting away with stuff sounds very familiar.
But I think recent games have shown that he does this as town as well as scum.

Yeah, but ulti was not super active thus far either. He did say he had reception issues at work, but we didnt hear from him at all last night even though he posted elsewhere on b8 and really really wanted a super active d1. This doesnt mean hes scum but hes almost certainly not town power. And I have a hard time believing ulti always waits until hes caught up to post lol. Not that theres been a ton to catch up with anyway.

Apparently not because when I followed up ulti's "pressure" (if you can call it that) with some actual heat of my own BCT reverted pretty quickly to business as usual.

Then he ended our page 2 exchange with "see you day 2" and has only made one post since:

Shows up, removes his vote and then plays his "woe is me" card even though he hasn't received any significant pressure today.

But if he's actually not posting any more until day 2 then I'm gonna be pretty unhappy with him. Hard not to see it as him trying to fly under the radar and not put himself in a position where he will have to continue to pretend to be this enlightened town version of himself.
