Please don't use a racist song in a racist movie to try to express a general emotion regarding the situation in Israel and Palestine.

also tc the point is that its broadly applicable to conflict and and imperialism. so yea sure

Both sides thinking its ok to be inhumane to each other is especially why I thought of this song as neither side is shy about committing war crimes.

Disney's Pocahontas should not have been "Pocahontas." It should have been an original story inspired by Pocahontas.

It's one thing to take tragic novels like The Little Mermaid and Hunchback of Notre Dame and give them happy endings. It's another to try and apply that to real life.

The prince doesn't love her, he loves someone else instead, and she lets herself die out of grief.

It's not entirely a sad ending, since she turns into a spirit and there's some stuff about earning your immortal soul by performing good deeds, but it's nothing at all like the Disney version.

If I remember correct...
She got a week or so to convince the prince to marry her, or she will die.
The prince only got eyes for a princess that he marries.
The mermaid sisters gives her a magical knife that will let her live and turn back to a mermaid if she kills the prince.
She cant do that, so she jumps from a high cliff into the sea, and turn into seafoam.

I used to think this was such a crude and basic take on conflict, but it's literally the basis of MAGA.

Ain't nothing wrong with acknowledging the issues of a thing and still being able to enjoy it. Histrionic really is the perfect word for those few kneejerk users.
