Quite a card this week, with some prolific veterans like Bloodsport, Black Dragon, and Whiplash in the field trying to earn a shot at the Golden Bolt. As a reminder, please put any discussion of match results under spoiler tags until 24 hours after the episode airs out of consideration for people who can't watch the episode live. Showtime is about an hour from now, and based on what I'm reading on the subreddit, the episodes now go up on Discovery+ and MAX at the same time they air on TV, so there's no more early showings. But you can skip the commercials and finish the episode faster watching it on one of the streaming options above, so I guess that's still a plus.

Black Dragon seems like the obvious favorite tonight, so based on last week's total upset, I expect Fusion to just go completely nuclear on everyone else.

This episode is hard to predict because there's a lot of great bots in this one. Aside from Hijinx, I could honestly see any of them getting hot and potentially winning. I'm cheering for Blip, but if I had to make a prediction, I'd probably guess Black Dragon too.

Nah, there's no point. Unless there's some kind of massive controversy, there's not enough to talk about between episodes to last a whole week, so I always make a new topic for each episode. It's been like that for several seasons now, and I don't see a reason to change that.

it looks like he got a bit of an armor upgrade

I'm streaming on prime and it feels like the show is..buffering sometimes, which I didn't even think was a thing anymore

I even started 8 minutes late to give them a head start

Black Dragon rips Blip's face off and moves on to the next round.

Unfortunately, I'll have to DVR the rest of this episode and watch it tomorrow. My family has two TV's set up in the family room, but my dad wants to watch the Chiefs game on one TV and the MLB playoff game on the other. For tonight, I'd rather DVR BattleBots and spend time with my dad than go upstairs to my room and watch BattleBots alone. Enjoy the show, everyone.

Fusion vs Whiplash

Well, that did not take Fusion that long to burst into flames...

Finally got around to watching the episode on DVR, and it was great. Whiplash putting on two technical masterclasses in the first two rounds and then winning an absolute brawl with Black Dragon in the final was an awesome sight to see. It's such a versatile bot and Matt Vasquez is such an excellent driver.

Bloodsport getting one-punched and Fusion catching on fire again were also fun. At least Reese took it in stride. He's definitely the most likeable of the Ewert family.

I admire Reese's commitment to completing a joke (that he obviously meticulously wrote beforehand) even if Chris or Kenny don't even set him up with it. Just go with the non-sequitur.

Fusion on fire is a state of being.
