you queued for 2 old raids, of course nobodys doing it. The only reason to do them is for glamour. Also you queue'd at ~4am. Try doing it right after reset when duty finder will throw people in there

don't queue for old 24-mans outside of peak times

found party finder was better for the stuff DF never picks. was stuck at a MQ for like 2 months till I learned that.

whenever I tried to do PF in the past I had to teleport around to different cities yelling and it took forever as well, but i couldnt even AFK it

you can sorta afk it just ask for help or say you're stuck in the title and people will join eventually. just do other stuff until you have enough people.

Thats only for the 4 men missions generally. Otherwise 8-24 men raids still require queues but most arent required for main story progression aside from the crystal towers I believe.

Yeah none of the raids besides the ARR 24 man raids are required, that's why nobody does them anymore unless you force people to queue into it right after daily reset.

they are required for the side story though -_- like i cant do the eden questline without doing the eden raids. same with nier and probably same with werlyt once i get to that

and then when i finally beat endwalker, dawnwalker or whatever will be out and nobody will be doing the endwalker raids

Oceania is a dead server even though it's new unfortunately.

ye i pretty much stopped playing because queueueue times are gross for no reason unless youre tank or healer. not worth

People do alliance raids all the time. Roulette should be filling those up pretty well on a decently populated data center. Most times when I queue for anything the wait time is 5-10 minutes as a DPS, but that's on Leviathan.

In my experience (halfway through heavensward) most of the music in this game is either catchy enough to hum along with, or epic enough to go on a playlist.

A truly awesome soundtrack, and I haven't even gotten to the parts people lose their minds over apparently.

A lot of people who live in the Oceana region didn't want to transfer their already existing characters on other servers.

That I don't know, I just know a couple that refused to transfer and well it's a safe bet that if I know a couple who did that that many more also did.

They play on the US servers or Materia on the JP server.

Really depends on the time tbh. You'll get loads of people queuing for roulettes.

I did all 3 Stormblood 24 raids a few weeks ago as DPS(!) within two days, and was waiting 15 at most.

But I'm in europe (Light) so no idea what could work out for you.

Yeah kinda sounds like you have a shitty server.

my problem with FF14 is the content is so stale i don't even feel like resubbing, otherwise i'd be doing the raids with everyone

Even if I move to a higher pop server thats somewhere else, there's probably only 2 options. japanese (in which case there's a language barrier outside of whatever aus communities are there), or american/europe, which will have far higher latency than japan/aus, and chances are the servers will be asleep when I'm awake anyway

Yeah, I just checked, and it seems like Ravana is part of the only Oceanic server pool for Australia / New Zealand.

Honestly, at this point I would recommend to simply ask the server community itself. You wont be the only one with this problem, so maybe the other players already did some solution on their own (like, doing these ally raids mostly at a specific day or time).

Sorry, my last post I meant Elemental, since Materia is Oceania. Tonberry on the JP side has a sizable English community. Masamune does too. So if you don't want to deal with as bad ping on the NA and EU servers, those two on JP would be your best bet if you're struggling on Materia/Ravana.

I actually came from tonberry originally when I first transferred to oceania. I guess I might not mind moving back. but eh. I was still early in the ARR MSQ back then, but I think it is a mixed language server with JPN and Aus folk :/

My Aussie friend started before the Oceania server was a thing. She doesn't seem to have huge problems playing on NA servers, or at least hasn't complained about it much.

From my experience most queues run pretty fast on my NA DC 24/7. I pretty regularly queue up in the dead of night or super early in the morning (which is Aussie afternoon/evening) and rarely have to wait too long. My only super long queue was for the last Lv60 alliance going in at like 4 am, and back then there was very little reward to doing it.

You might also be a victim of alliance raid queue changes that hit in patch 6.5. They changed the way it works a couple weeks ago, which means people might be avoiding the roulette or deliberately going at lower levels that exclude the Lv80 raids.

If you're considering moving, I'd suggest starting a new character on a NA DC first, just to check if the lag would be tolerable or too much. Don't spend the money to move the main character before you're sure.

No no no, the change was actually to reduce the possibility to avoid these raids.

People removed their equipment to lower their item level so they got pushed into world of darkness raids for sure. That's not possible anymore.

Sure, it's still possible to avoid higher raids, but now you need to choose a lower level class and don't get the level 90 rewards anymore.

I know. I'm saying that it might have the opposite effect for now. I've seen people say they just won't do alliance roulette anymore because the possible "bad" raids aren't worth the rewards.

It's anecdotal of course. I don't know for sure if it's having that effect.

I have not done enough raids to say for sure, but I don't think there was any increase in waiting time.

But I definitly see more raids outside of the crystal tower stuff. There will always be a crystal tower bias because of the main story quest, and being the lowest raid available to all, but it's definitly better at EU/Light by now.

It's been a bit since I played but I thought people used Party Finder for raids?

This is reminding me of trying to do ARR 24 player raids pre Heavens Ward before they added roulette's and the thing with that kid and the sticker book, I can't remember the name.
