And damn, I was hoping to say that I support metric in everything except temperature.

Really good band with lots of memorable tunes. Their two latest outputs, Formentera from last year, and Formentera II from this past Friday are also really good (the first one was one of the more impressive albums from last year I thought, though I've only listened to the second one once so far).

I always enjoyed them. They were one of those bands back in my high school days that the hipsters and preppy kids could agree upon. Plus, the singer was a smoke show back in the day.

I saw them of Colbert, and I was like, "Whoa, Metric is still together!?"

That said, Metric was always a band just to the side of my tastes. I never bought an album, and couldn't name an individual song, but I was aware of them, and always had a vaguely favourable impression. They were just kinda, "...And Metric was there too!", for me.

I did not hear of them until Rock Band 3, and frankly I think "Combat Baby" is one of the worst songs on that game... but over time I gave their other music a chance and I feel like stuff like "Help I'm Alive" and "Sick Muse" are pretty awesome songs.

So overall I give the band a 4/5

Yeah I listen to mostly Japanese music, so while English and other tunes can certainly get me going it's rare that anything other than J-rock / pop enters my playlist. That said, Gold Gun Girls did made make my generic "favorites" list.

They're in my current song rotation. I haven't heard anything of theirs after Synthetica tho. Lost Kitten is a favorite song of mine.
