why/how are Rey and Kylo so connected? Practically force-FaceTiming across the galaxy

how did she pull the saber from Kylo despite having no training? (I know Kylo was injured and mentally fucked just having killed Han)

I dont even know where to start with Luke

I wish Leia wouldve been shown to use the force more before she flew through literal space

Sort of like how the second trilogy stomped all over the first in the eyes of many fans?

Really I don't care what people hate it's just I see the hatred for the new movies as no difference from the hate the prequel trilogy got.

Personally I think it just deflates all tension to have the character built up as the primary antagonist to be made into a chump twice in a row. >_>

Vader at least killed Obi-Wan in a New Hope before Han cheap-shotted him. Kylo killed a defenseless old man. and then got clowned on by someone who was force sensitive for all of 30 minutes before that fight happened <_<

Luke didn't have Jedi training when he pull his lighsaber when hanging upside down in that ice cave.

And the explanation is simple, because they're the main characters. It's their privilege.

I feel like the first 2 could have worked, but then the 3rd was like, nah don't try anything new. Ignore those 2 Palpatine is back, everything is connected to these like 4 people in the entire galaxy and nothing makes sense.

Plus side is we got Anzellans, so... it's not ALL bad.

Luke at most had an two hours of made up on the spot based on what was lying around training before he used the Fork to blow up the death star because he was "strong in the force"

The whole mythology about jedi being a systematic from birth religious education with measurable power levels and exams to graduate to a higher belt is everything that's wrong with the prequels.

This is what happens when a company has no plan for a series of movies in the slightest.

Even if this was how it went down, it doesn't excuse the sequel trilogy from committing the same mistakes over again. They're so far removed from what the original 6 tried to stablish that they come of as fanon rather than a serious attempts at fleshing out the universe.

Plus, if they were any good, Disney would have built upon them but every single tv show they made were prequels based on the first 6 movies. They know nearly nobody cares about episodes 7-9.

He had little training with obi wan in A New Hope, and then had a whole 3 years before Empire to better his connection to the force.

Imagine in A New Hope, Luke confronts Vader at the end and beats the shit out of him. That's basically what happens with Rey and Kylo.

Theres a certain degree of pandering.

like when Finn and Rey were fleeing in the ep 7, and they had to make it a point 3 separate times that Finn didnt need to hold Reys arm to escape, she can do it on her own

couldnt they just film it that way to begin with? Rather than no, I can do it over and over

Ether They had no plan or the second director threw away the plan to be "subversive" ether way it sucked.

Oh and I'm not a Rian Johnson hater I think he's a great director. He was just the wrong choice for star wars.

I dont understand why people complain that the movies focus on only one family and the circle around it. Thats exactly the point. The three trilogies are the story of the Skywalker family. Its about the Skywalkers. Obviously there are other things going on in the galaxy (and outside it, per Ahsoka), but those things arent part of the Skywalkers story.

It is fitting that other stories are getting told outside of the three trilogies. Those stories belong to other characters/families.

Kylo was just wrecked by Chewie's crossbow thing so he was fighting with a physical handicap and he had just murdered his father so had an emotional handicap, so it makes a little more sense that Rey was able to keep up with him

I think the new Star Wars trilogy are about as bad as the prequels.

The main difference being that The Force Awakens is half decent at the start of the new series, while Revenge of the Sith wasn't that bad at the end of the prequels.

However, the second film in both series are just flat out terrible across the board.

The original trilogy had them as part of a larger story. It wasn't until the prequels that Darth Vader became the center of the damn universe. "Prophecy," anyone?
