I think chokers provoke the imagery of collars and leashes? And those items have connotations of being vulnerable and controlled which again, leans into the "use me" vibe?

This is answering where they came from. A response to the "slavery" theory. My answer to the attraction part, is two fold. 1. Clothing often exists to attract naturally. 2. Sexual connotations are likely borrowed from BDSM culture where people make the assumption chokers = collars = sexual but no part of that equivalency is really true.

With that said, if you like it, I'm not going to kink shame. I just never really thought of a choker like that. I just thought they were pretty. I'm not sure most people think they are sexual in nature
