It's much more believable that he's just incensed people are daring to question him and he's lashing out, heedless of the consequences; any more consequences he gets by being heedless of the previous ones are just more things to be mad at the world unjustly inflicting on him. Someone's gonna have to actually fucking give him punishments with teeth or this shit is going to eventually unravel the entire legal system by playing such blatantly different rules for him than any other American, even if this fucker is a former president.

Jumping straight to the harsher punishments will guarantee at a minimum a bunch of appeals that could be potentially upheld depending on who hears the case.

The judge knows what their doing. Just be patient.

I just assume it will turn into a cushy office job, where they hang out in an office near his room that I guess members either get put on for punishment or promotion, I guess depending on how agents would feel their services being used. lol

They're already WAY past less harsh punishments. Literally any other person would have been put in prison by now awaiting trial.

The idea that he'd go to a normal jail and not some bougie white collar minimum security joint that is a glorified resort is laughable. That's how it normally goes. Anybody violating a gag order the first few times or so is usually just a fine, they don't get imprisoned right off the bat.

But it's Trump and our limp-dick "judicial" system keeps going out of their way to pamper him.

I was super disappointed that Chutkan pulled her own limited order after explicitly stating that were Trump anybody else he'd already be held in custody for the things he's said and done in regards to his case...and then still gave him preferential treatment.

Punish him the way you would anyone else. If his followers want to fight over it, put them down, hard. If we are going to have to have a fight with them best do it now and get it over with.

So what this post says to me, if I were an outsider to the US, is that if you hold even a modicum of public importance, it doesn't fucking matter what you do to get yourself into court, you can just appeal and litigate to hold off any real consequences ad nauseum.

Agreed, and in doing so they are still making it political.

It's like how Feckless Garland intentionally avoided holding Trump to any sort of accountability because he didn't want to seem "politically motivated", yet his reasoning itself was politically motivated, just not in the interest of justice. Dude had to be embarrassed into doing the right thing from the Jan 6th committee's hearing being public.

And yeah, appeasing the terrorists will never work, so best to just treat Trump properly and deal with his terrorists as they act upon their terrorism. They won't be satisfied with anything less other than Trump not being held liable for any crime and becoming POTUS again.

Just add a zero every time he steps out of line.

You can in fact run out of appeals. The part people get mad about is how long it takes to get through them all.

The judge alluded to possible jail time if he didn't shut the fuck up. Time to enforce that.

Part of the problem is that appeals were on a by case basis. For someone like Trump, it should be treated like a coaches challenge in football. You have only so many before you run out. Meaning you can't just appeal every decision and you need to be more stringent on your usage.
