Turns out 10 years of carrying heavy military equipment and turning wrenches and capping that off with 10km runs 3x weekly and ~100 of your usual exercises daily breaks everything down real quick. Bad joints, bad back, etc. The good news, I guess, is that they pay me a fair bit for my disabilities, so I don't need to work. It's a small blessing, but I get to spend more time with friends and family than most people do. There are some who would envy my position, but it's definitely one of those "Grass is Always Greener" type of deals. That said. I went for a jog this evening. It's funny how well my body remembers the proper form for running.
