I don't care if their cause if what I truly believe in and support 100000% support. The second they block freeways and streets holding people hostage and not allowing them to go to work, go home after work, to the hospital, to social events, grocery store, or travel one spot to another to pick their nose, then they're dead to me and I will support the opposite of what they're protesting

however, if due to a protest, an ambulance couldnt take a victim to hospital and the victim died, every protestor in that crowd needs to be held accountable for murder.

I agree about blocking highways and most roads is very counter productive. Especially for those of the fence for a cause

Generally, it makes more sense to go to the place where people that can actually do anything to make changes would be inconvenienced instead of random people. It's wildly inefficient. That said, it's still not a huge deal.

It's the "adult" equivalent of a kid trying to throw a public tantrum in order to get his way, and it's unfortunately no more dignified at an adult age than it is at a toddler age.

Last year we had some protesters that glued themself on the road in Stockholm near a big hospital, which of course is the main road to the hospital.
Multiple ambulances got delayed, including one with the lights on.
I know that it went to court, but I dont remember the sentences.

I got caught in a pro-palestine protest train that was like a kilometer and a half long while trying to cross the street yesterday. I had to walk all the way around their back end. Took me maybe 8 minutes.

Earlier this year there was a protest calling for the resignation of a city councilman because he was on video horribly abusing his dog and police found that his other pets were neglected.

They didnt protest in the street or block traffic. But the local news interviewed people about their opinions on it. One guy said that he supports the message of the protest, but said they should do it in an empty field or forest so they dont bother anyone.

An empty field or forest is a good way for things to get ignored though, because you're quite literally out of the way

There's always the option of literally yelling at the sky in groups across the country. It's been done before.

- No one gets hurt
- Out of any road, thus allowing the actual rest of the functioning society to do what they do
- Protesters get to have their fun
- ... and we get to laugh at them at their expense when they end up in a compilation vid later down the line.

It is illegal to block streets in the US. If enough people assemble on the side of the road or in front of a government building it'll get news coverage anyway, so might as well do it the right way and not make your cause look bad by being dicks.
