For me, it was the time someone posted a character select screen "leak" for Super Smash Bros Wii U and I made my own copy of it to mess with peoples minds even more

That time we invaded ebaumsworld along with other gamefaqs boards and sites

Also I still check the Halo 2 Social Board here and there. It was the reason I made my first account to shitpost along with everyone else and now we're 19 years older

That one random topic that had like 65000 posts in it and it was just the same guy posting in it nonstop

me making a topic saying Id close my account (an old account) if it reached X posts exactly. Then the mods locked it and kept posting in it after it was locked until it was 1 post away from the target and stopped there

Thanksgiving, A dude posted a picture of a vagina that had been made to look like a hamburger. The topic was something like "my sister makes the best hamburgers.. Mmm Mmm gud" it stayed up for a few hours.
Thought that was pretty funny.

How did one topic get that many posts?

I remember something similar in which one user posted lots of terrible jokes on a dead board for years to keep their oldest post active before someone else found the board and told others about what was going on. I believe the original poster quickly either deleted all of their posts or closed their topic(s).

I think the boards were merged with gamespot and some other sote. Gamespot had a higher limit but this other site had no limit. So long as you didnt post on gamefaqs or gamespot the topic wouldnt close.
i might be remembering wrong on the 3 sites thing and it might have just been gamespot only

That topic was so funny. One of the only times I ever posted in a topic, just to post because I knew I was witnessing a legendary moment. I genuinely laughed while that topic was going. Good times.

oh, from the site in general. i remember someone flying the dodo around one of the islands for an absurd length of time in gta3 and the discovery of blue hell and people wanting to know where the maibatsu monstrosity and darkel were also i was told raa mule was from there which is a thing i remembered but otherwise could not place

i remember when the glitch allowing you to skip most of the first stage was discovered on the perfect dark board
i remember the time some dude, going off the poem the game references, figured out you could shoot out part of the floor in the war! level and then fly around under there with slayer rockets
i remember greystar and the mysteries site

i remember the gamefaqs chat, specifically the #squaresoft #finalfantasy and #trivia channels

Healito outing himself on the PlayStation general board that he shit in a bag in his room to avoid roommates/company like it was normal behavior. Man that topic blew up.

I remember in one of the first character battles somebody wrote a story about scorpion killing everybody in the contest, and I remember reading the whole thing. I dont know which contest, I dont know who posted it, I dont remember much about it besides cloud and Aerith being killed

but I remember thinking it was so cool

Well it's not a fond memory, but I remember reading the Halo 2 board before I even made this account, and some guy made a bunch of accounts with names along the lines of "Holiday Ruiner" and spammed shock images.

That sounds right, I had forgotten about that. I do remember some guy figuring out some way to spam same time posts, he had a topic up on the Winning Post 4 Program 2000 game board that had like over 1000 posts or something.

Speaking of Twilight Princess, I remember there used to be a bunch of RP topics on that board before mods cracked down on it, then those got moved to the Japanese version of the first Zelda game's social board for a while before eventually migrating to its own site. Wonder what all those people from back then are up to nowadays. Guy who ran that shit actually posted on this board for a while, he seemed like kind of a nutter.

I also let a gimmick user from Next Gen Gaming slip into my common vernacular. This Nicholas guy would troll the board by acting real pious and nice as part of his trolling gimmick.

He called other posters "gaming pal" and I use that term to this day when making certain irreverent video game remarks. Nick still makes me laugh his gimmick was awesome.

I still smile at all the Shaq Fu Army hijinx like getting Barney Hide and Seek locked.

I remember our boy duckbear hitting me up on AIM in like 2002 or 2003 to argue about whether it was ethical to stomp on bugs. I think I argued with him in a post so he followed up by giving me an ethics questionnaire.
