Ive always been team Nintendo, for as long as I can remember. They have the best exclusives, iconic characters, and have been doing well with the Switch. Ive been a Nintendo fan since getting the SNES, my first and favorite console of all time. You got Super Mario, Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong [Country], Metroid, Pokemon, and so much more. Too bad that theyve been constantly lacking power with their consoles for years since the N64 (although, that console was slightly more powerful than the PS1, and the PS2 was the weakest compared to the GameCube and Xbox. Oh, the irony of it all.)

Sony has always been winning (most of the time; Nintendo got extremely lucky with the Wii, and the PS3 was this close losing to the Xbox 360. Also, the Switch might be the console that finally surpass the PS2 in terms of sales). Like Nintendo, they also have great exclusives, though not that memorable (I think). Ratchet and Clank, God of War (much prefer the modern era, in terms of story & character), Horizon, Uncharted, and so much more. The PS3 was my first PlayStation, but at least I managed to get caught up with it previous exclusives from the PS1 & 2 era.

Microsoft, on the other hand, might be the weakest when it comes to their [published] exclusives. Theyve may have beaten Nintendo twice, they may have more powerful consoles than them, but compared to them & Sony, their exclusivity is minimal. Halo, Gears of War, and Forza are great series, but thats all they have. Ever since buying Rare from Nintendo, they hardly do anything with them. They only care about 3rd party games, and thats just about the jest of it. I did get the first Xbox, and enjoyed it, but I avoided the 360 & One, due to both of them having major issues. You can probably guess what they are. I did, however, got a Series X and love it as much as my Switch & PS5.

Regardless, Im more on team Nintendo & Sony.

Not really a fan of any of them these days. In the past I would have said Nintendo, but the way they handle online functionality kills any interest in their modern offerings for me.

even during the 360/ps3 era when I had a 360 I would root for Sony.

honestly it was late Xbox one to series that I started to root for microsoft

If you're going to make a stupid pull with options that shouldn't be on it, at least include an all three and none option.

all three

but if i have to choose, nintendo is the only one i'd always pick. they do dumb things and handle anything involving the internet in the absolute shittiest ways possible most of the time but otherwise they're consistent, insanely good quality when they care, and they actually try new stuff sometimes.

i do kinda want a new xbox though, the 360 was one of my favorite consoles of all time and i haven't upgraded yet.

Used to be Sony and Nintendo until 2018, with Sony in the lead.

Now its only Nintendo.

360 was an incredible machine with a great controller and it was truly the best age of gaming when developers were pushing the edge further and further of what was possible with games before the emphasis on live service and MTX. That stuff was always there to a degree by the nature of Xbox Live, but not in the way the entire industry is shaped by it nowadays.

Nintendo, for its iconic franchises.

Sony/Microsoft consoles just seem like hindered PCs to me.

Sony censored a nipple and some blood from a couple games and there's a group of people online who had apoplectic fits over it

Sony and Nintendo are champs when it comes to exclusives. One caters to adult, the other mostly to kids, as well as adult kids as I like to say it.

Xbox is like a dumb rich friend that just tags along on the journey with no sense of direction or knowing why it even exists.

Nintendo kinda faded after gamecube and bloat ware on wii and wii u was a disaster. They stayed relevant with 3ds but the switch restored their legacy.

Xbox was always the better choice over sony. Sony killed the Dreamcast which was a better console IMO. Sony was always about simulation. Never felt like i actually controlled or dictated the outcome on a ps2 or ps3 console.

Xbox took more chances. Always had a better network/cloud connectivity. Great shooters. Halo franchise was one of the best ever.

I tend to lean into Sony. Not necessarily as a game-developer in and of themselves, but because more often than not they're producing the consoles I want to buy to play the games I want to play.

Microsoft would be my runner-up, because I lost interest in pretty much everything Nintendo does about 25 years ago.

Between them, my favorite is the hope of a second gaming crash from which we might be saved from a tabletop company. MS should not only bow out of the game console market, but be taken down a few pegs for the disingenuous-at-best crap they pull with pc. Sony has good systems, but terrible, uninteresting libraries and the occasional questionable policy. Nintendo manages to squeeze out good games and decent consoles, but they're held back by a combination of over-indulging their gimmicks (somethings with faulty hardware like the joycons and the lawsuit they faced for it) and their stance on issues that make them seem like fossils in a market that would thrive without said stances. Both Sony and Nintendo go out of their way to work against cheat devices or various grind-reducing exploits (see: all the glitches they patched for TotK), rather than letting people deprive themselves of doubling or tripling a game's natural runtime. Let's not even get started on the sheer avarice of all three companies, because that's a conversation that would take forever and get absolutely nowhere.

So yeah, I'm otherwise abstaining from whom I'd consider "the best."

I would say Sony, since I like PlayStation 1&2 games the best. Although, I really like Nintendo, too.

Sony as I buy their consoles first when a new gen starts. I bought PS5 before I got a Switch for example.
