Reminds me when I'd spend like 80 bucks on the Secret World on frivolous stuff for community or around that on Interpunk earlier than that on cds, shirts, stickers.

Set your limit stay within it lol but 500 on vinyl seems like a lot though. How'd you find that many good vinyls?

*edit* And as I post still that's like 400+ American.

I don't know any of those but I can be like hey I got the Brave Bird debut or something by Emily Davis and no one would know either. It's fun to find music a small section of ppl know I guess.

i live like two blocks from a record store and their 50% off/$10 bin always has good metal in it

cant justify ~$30 for an album I can just play for free on my phone

It's probably a good thing that there's no good record stores around me. I'd be perpetually broke.

I always hit up record stores when I go into the city, but I don't go into the city very often any more.

A lot of its punk. Especially all the Swedish named stuff.

Punk is fun, depending on what kind and how you define it. Haven't given the genre much of a listen.

Looked more like diy indie hard-core or metal I thought Omission was cool. Still have their cd. Reminded me of Bad Religion with more metal riffs and gruffer vocals. Some random band from Michigan I found on interpunk.

I used Interpunk a lot back in the mid 2000s when I was first getting into vinyl. Haven't bought from them in quite a while though.

I never had any issues with them, but I've heard quite a bit of bad stuff about them in recent years.

I haven't in awhile because they were usually out of stock of the item. I wanted long story short. I think Interpunk Bob still runs it but the warehouse they were using they lost access to because of frequent rent increases essentially forcing them to move b/c the land was more valuable for something else.

So instead of posting on the website "yea I got locked out of my warehouse" they kept taking orders and couldn't ship anything.

I forget exactly when this happened 2016ish. But how many ppl really were still ordering from them. I guess enough to get a bad reputation on Reddit. Anyhow I think Bob has a new warehouse, but I doubt they ever really get anything exclusive anymore like they used to back in the early 2010s and back.

That sucks to hear. Interpunk was such an amazing resource for buying music back in the day.

I first got into buying music back in the 90s. Mostly tapes and CDs from labels like Epitaph and Fat Wreck Chords that I could buy from a chain music store we had here called HMV. But once I started getting into more underground stuff that I couldn't find in chain stores, discovering Interpunk was fucking amazing.

Yea Interpunk ruled. I am wearing a Texas is the Reason shirt I bought there right now. It is still in good condition (well no holes). I didn't have much money to spend on music in the 90s but the Punk-O-Rama comps were fun. I mostly eventually just got into the scene because of the Offspring in '96/97. And I was still finding my own way and feeling like I was growing up some.

I was the same. I loved the Punk o Rama and Fat Wreck comps. Best bang for your buck plus you would always discover new bands.

This was back in the day before I worked, so my only money was from my $5 a week allowance or getting money from relatives on my b-day or Xmas. I had a paper route for a bit but it didn't last long.

I should get them by next weekend.

I don't even think I can go through all those in just one day, so it'll be a weekend long endeavour.

obscure music like that would often be about $30 per CD back in the day.

On Interpunk I never paid more than 16 dollars for a cd and they were often way cheaper for independent music.

That's the plan.

Whenever I get a big lot like this in the mail, I always save opening it until the weekend. I like to go through them all one by one and make a full day out of it.

That's gonna be a big package heh 20 separate items if I counted right. Feel like that'll take a couple days to go through.

CD buying was the 90s version of record buying.

Those records aren't badly priced at all. $25-35 is pretty standard for new.

Vinyl actually blew up because pop music and I think this was because of Taylor Swift. The best one I ever had was a children's one a day by the time vinyl was slowly leveling up. I just liked my cds and mp3s. But I do feel like music needs to be felt and heard.

I hope Taylor Swift put out some nice vinyls before, go Chiefs. I don't care about the 49ers that much. This Dynasty will destroy the Patriots. Heh.
