Yeah there is a huge danger in November. And that's why I'd vote for an inanimate object if it was on the Democrat ticket. Anything is better than the GOP, but I guess some people value optics and exciting candidates more than they value their rights and their lives.

Only solution at this point is to run on issues like abortion rights and hoping the economy doesn't go into recession. Those are the Dems best bets. Biden himself I worry about, especially with all the polling this past year.

It's a really good question. It certainly seems like Hur was intending on creating a narrative that was needless. People being questioned being unable to recall things do not usually require such specific framing.

Yeah, biden really earned that collaboration between the democratic party making all the other candidates drop and their big media buddies running the "biden miracle" stories right before super tuesday so that all the diehard democrats (who make up the vast majority of primary voters, since, you know, it's a party primary) can vote for who they've been told to vote for.

Yea you hate the people. I get it. You don't have to keep harping on it..... you hate that Democrats get to vote in primaries. You prefer that someone be handed the nomination they didn't earn. Sorry, that's not how it works. Have to win primaries and get the votes. Whining about it doesn't help your cause and complaining that people get to vote doesn't help either.

I don't get how people have holed "Biden is too old" into Trump comparisons. The point being made is that Biden shouldn't be the nominee, not that you should/would vote for Trump instead. Biden polls like garbage from pollsters that called 2022 well and it's been static for months while Dem operatives constantly assure people it will somehow get better.

If it comes down to Biden/Trump (as someone who lives in Texas) it's obviously going to be Biden but the point here is the sheer lack of confidence and how abysmally the guy is polling against the former crime president when the SC is going to move heaven and earth to make sure he doesn't see jail time.

I'd normally understand the reservations on polling since it's been shitty a lot of cycles in a row, but what's the explanation for the pollsters that did well during these cycles showing Biden running behind Trump?

You mean like how most states don't even get to vote before the nominee is already decided? You mean a process where the voter participation rate is even lower than the already low general election? You mean the party-controlled process where the party-favored candidate can receive special treatment and have all the other competitors called to have them drop at just the right time? You mean the process that, like the general election, is dominated by money? You people suddenly have no problem with undemocratic practices because the democratic party carries them out?

Each candidate played by the same rules and was capable of gathering votes all the same.

If a candidate was disadvantaged by the field not being split several ways and eking out wins with a plurality of votes, then maybe that candidate should've developed a better strategy or better courted the voters of the party they wish to represent

there's only 9 months to the election. even if they wanted to run another candidate it's way too late to start a campaign like that.

best thing Biden could do is pick a VP people actually like. or talk more about what she does. Melania was in the news so people actually knew she existed. I checked google to see what Kamala Harris has done and it seems like a lot, but you never hear about it.

If Bernie's only path to victory was to win in a splintered field and if it came down to two candidates and the voting base broadly voted for the centrist one of the bunch, yeah, that's pretty in line with American democracy. Perfect? No, not at all, but the notion it's more democratic for a guy with 40% of the vote to represent 100% of the Dem voting base is pretty laughable. Bernie's best bet was to not receive a majority of the vote, there's no real way around this when you bring up resentments from 2020.

Anyone's only path to victory is to get filtered through one of only two viable parties' primary process. It's undemocratic and it's fixed such that no corporate/rich-unfriendly candidate will ever get through. Anyone that thinks progress can be made in such a system is fooling themselves.
