I tend to pick the starter with the best speed stat.

Rowlet and Weedcat are the best first forms.
Ivysaur is best mid form. Meganium and Torterra are best final stages. Rowlet line is the best across the board though. Mid stage is a little rough, but those usually are. --- Hambo's alt. ... Copied to Clipboard!

I threw a bone to Turtwig. Gen4 had my favorite roster of starters outside of Gen1, and Torterra's the only grass-type starter I ever raised up for use in serious matches. (I stopped playing at Gen6, no opinion on the ones that came after).
