My family is thinking of moving out of the US if he wins.

As a transwoman, I am prepared to lose all of my rights and be rounded up sooner or later. Possibly killed.

I expect the GOP to push to invalidate my marriage since I'm a lesbian. We live in a blue state but as we've seen the GOP and fat fuck don't give a damn about States' rights.

That everything bad left wingers will say will happen right wingers will tell them to calm down they are being overly dramatic that everything will be fine and then when said bad thing ends up actually happening those right wingers will be silent.

This was my thought too. I hear this virtually every election for as long as I can remember from someone yet after the elections I just see them complaining and them continuing to live where they are like they were before the election. It isn't even unique to the US. I hear it in plenty of other countries too.

You even hear it from rich celebrities that have enough wealth that they could actually easily move their whole family to any place they want and even they don't tend to do it.

Worst case scenario, I likely die in the streets fighting brown shirts, who are emboldened by Trump pardoning J6ers. Which is fine, I can think of worse ways to die that mean less.
Best Case scenario, I move the fuck out of this country, unfortunately I don't have enough money to make that easy.
Expectation: Probably somewhere in the middle.

I just heard him say that, if a NATO country hadn't paid it's fair share and was attacked by Russia he wouldn't help them. Something I would expect from him.

...then he went on to say that he would encourage Russia to be rough with them. That's a new one.

I moved out of the US the first time he won. It ended up being worse than expected. I can't even imagine how bad it will be the next time. Honestly feels surreal watching all this shit go down from afar and people over there acting like it's no big deal.

I did. I literally said I would and moved the following April. And no I wasn't planning to beforehand. I applied for that job in December.

One thing that will happen for sure is that he will devotr much of his presidency trying to get his life back on track. He'll pardon himself from all criminal proceedings, he'll leverage his position to make money on real estate again, everything. Being president is a way for him to make money.

It's because they realize it's borderline impossible unless you do it illegally or have a whole heap of money. A lot of money. A lot of heaps of money. You can literally buy Australian permanent residency for about $5m.

I think it would definitely mean a lot of horrible trends affecting groups targeted by bigoted evangelicals, but the position doesn't really carry enough power to turn the country into an instant hellscape.

Or cheering, since a good deal of them are just gaslighting when they say the horrible thing will never happen. In secret, they're hoping the horrible thing does happen or are actively working to try to make it happen.

I probably would if I could but with Russia and the AMOC predicted to stop within my lifetime, staying in the Great Lakes region of the US is probably a better option than moving to Europe

I think it'll be worse than 2017-2020. All the adults in the room are gone and Trump is now followed by his cult of political sycophants that dont care about anything as long as they win. The racists and nazis have literally come out of hiding place already thanks to him and will feel more emboldened. The Supreme Court is already packed with conservatives and YOU BET theyll try to cram at least one more (maybe Thomas stepping down?), guaranteeing decades of progress gone and promising a conservative dystopia. LGBTQ rights rolled back or non existent and will probably enact new hostile laws against them like WE ARE already seeing. Hyper capitalists will be living their wet dreams as low taxes are kept and maybe even further taken down, putting in risk government services and putting the burden financially on anyone not rich.

This is literally what they started and partially accomplished. I really fear for the worst.
