I suspect they'd want to address the popular problem of 6's character development dropping in the second half. Which would probably mean loads of new dialog for many different variations of the same scenes based on who you have with you and what order your doing events in.

They're just bullshitting.

If they really want to to it, it'd only take as long as FF7 remake and rebirth.
They're just making excuses to not to make one. Meanwhile they'll just do rereleases to gauge the interest. They will actually make one once it's definitely profitable, or waiting after FF7 remakes are complete.

I feel as if we're more likely to get a remake of IX before VI. Just a feeling.

Personally, I want one for VIII, with better character development for the cast members not named Squall, Rinoa, or Irvine. But this one's nothing more than a pipe dream.

Isn't there technically a confirmation on IX's remake anyway?

Or at least a reputable leaker stated this for both IX and X

it would take 30 years. they would literally make like 6 games out of it. each little section would be its own. or they'd do some stupid thing like create a whole different version of the game from each character's perspective, which is full of random useless shit like collecting puppies, when no one asked for that.

basically they wouldn't just make a good, loyal, actual remake. they'd have to do some other nonsense bullshit on top of it.
