seems like a problem that could easily be rectified by

making some exclusive Xbox games

Because it's financially more sound to make games for both or all 3 consoles so they can capture the largest potential market share.

Anymore it's usually the manufacturers paying out of pocket for an exclusive (period).

Because Microsoft is not a gaming company at heart. Either is Sony, but Sony knows how to navigate with Japanese and Western developers using the power of brand ownership and money hats.

Because they don't want you to buy an xbox console, they want you to subscribe to gamepass and forget to cancel it.

Why is Playstation the "exclusive kings" only have 10 exclusives on the PS5 since 2020?

This is such a stupidly overvalued thing, Xbox and MS has made it pretty clear that they want to bring their games to more platforms and don't want to horde IPs like Sony has. That's why stuff like Hi Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves is now going multiplatform.

Because Nintendo and Sony have invested into developing their in-house studios and forming relationships with others, Xbox hasn't.

Consoles have never made money. Its the software that makes money. Consoles are sold at a loss to try and incentivize you to get into their ecosystem and start spending money.

For Microsoft, they know they arent winning the console sales fight, so theyre banking on putting GamePass and their games on as many platforms as possible to make up the difference that way.

As said above, they basically want you to subscribe to GamePass and forget to cancel it when youre not using it so you pay for it the rest of your life, the same way people do for the video streaming services without realizing theyre spending hundreds of dollars a year in so doing.

Between mass effect, halo, and original oblivion, they arguably had quality over quantity

Kind of seems like stuff I wanted to play eventually hits Game Pass anyway, all the Yakuza games, the Persona games. I don't mind being patient if I get the full library for a monthly fee that I pay for anyway. FF16 will lose exclusivity also.
