If they want to reboot it in a more modern setting for a new audience while distancing themselves from those sequels so they can give the franchise a shot in the arm, more power to them. This is probably their line of thinking, but they could still make a new film with a new story (based on one of the other comics/novels or something unique) to reboot the franchise. It's a remake, not a replacement. The original still exists. This potentially being bad doesn't make the original any better or worse. There's some great movies out there that people love that they probably don't even know they are a remake/retelling of an old story. Clueless, Ocean's 11, Scarface, The Departed. If they don't deliver a goth vigilante movie it would probably disappoint and anger people lol. At least it's not as bad as trying to reboot Total Recall and RoboCop into PG movies. This seems fine. Lets be real. It's not some kind of sacred series here. It's The Crow. It's never actually been good, but it's been very fun at times. --- I don't believe in belts.
