in a couple weeks im flying out to my partner's new place. im extremely stressed about it cuz its a place of significantly higher means than i have ever really...stepped foot in at all. rich-ass neighborhood, rich-ass building, with him and his rich-ass roommate

ive been venting a lot about it here, and in therapy. but if anything the stress is just building, even when i try mindful meditating. i do genuinely think cigs would help, a lot. but i also know that id be a liar if i went back to them so soon. my 6 month quittaversary is the day of the trip

i know i keep blogfaqsing this but its occupying a lot of my mind, sorry

As a smoker I've noticed people of higher means that don't smoke are the most judgemental of smokers so I would advise against it lol buy a vape and hit that shit in the restroom if you really need a fix. Or get nicotine patches/gum.

Smoking doesn't fix any of that. You're doing so well, there's no "good" reason to relapse.

I think smoking would just cause you to spiral in the state that you're in. It's the sort of thing that sounds good before you do it, but it would only leave you with regret after the fact, but your strong desire to (hopefully) feel better in that moment makes you less able to see it.

well, its not cope, because cig addiction doesnt work like that for me. it's a binary "it is or it isnt" thing to me. im using good in lieu of "reasonable", cuz i do think there are reasonable excuses to go back to cigs since i didnt wanna quit in the first place

idk, i'd recommend a vape if you absolutely feel that you need a nicotine buzz. juul gives hits pretty close to a cigarette, but it's easy to get a burning tasting hit which is nasty.

Vuse and Njoy are other decent brands but they don't have the "kick" that a cigarette hit will give you (if that's what you're after). I'm using a Vuse 1.8% cus I found that it's the closest to the feeling a cigarette gives overall

the 5% vapes like Breeze and Mr Vapor are disgusting and the flavors taste like cheap perfume.

Also going to second smoking CBD or dried passionflower if you absolutely NEED to smoke. just be aware that the "CBD cigs" or "CBD buds" you can buy smell exactly like weed smoke, in case you don't wanna smell like weed. that said, CBD cigs are prob my favorite thing to smoke, mostly cus it feels like smoking weed without the high (which I don't like)

edit - also there are nicotine infused toothpicks that work pretty well, you can buy them at any smoke shop. I used those before I got a vape since I'm not allowed to chew on toothpicks at my job

Please try not to smoke or vape

Having to see my father spiral down in health and lose all of his teeth, lose his ability to speak and have to permanently breathe from a stoma in his throat with an oxygen machine 24/7 is more than enough for me to tell anyone I know to stop smoking

I know its hard, but sometimes people said it's just the habit of having something on their mouth that actually calms them down so one of my friends actually got some type of metal toothpick-like thing that he likes to call his mouth fidget spinner and it works for him

The reason why you quit isn't the point. You've brought this up several times in the past, but that's just your built in excuse for if you decide to pick it up again. You're doing something great for your health, (and the health of those around you).
The fact that you believe that smoking will make stressful situations better, is the exact reason you need to stay away from it. You've gone this long, those urges will pass. You can do this.

If you really must do so, try grabbing some nicotine-free herbal cigs. (To be clear, I'm talking about the legal, non-psychoactive ones intended for use as a substitute; I'm not talking about weed here.) Not sure if they'll do the trick, but they're far lower risk of bringing back the addiction so may as well try them first.

Ultimately it's your free will choice whether you decide to go back to smoking or not, but as someone who has smoked 2 packs a day for a long time (now cut back to 1) and has several failed attempts at quitting under his belt, I would say don't do it. You've come this far, you got this.
