I liked Sonic Adventure a lot more and still do.
But to be fair I played 1 as a kid but didn't play 2 until I was an adult. So that has probably warped it a bit. I just really missed those hubs and I found the treasure hunting and robot levels to be worse. --- A Fallen Mascot ... Copied to Clipboard!

Love both and hard choice for me. Amount of content and chao world is definitely sa2 battle imo. SA1 has me on the campaign/atmosphere etc. ... Copied to Clipboard!

SA is a great game, but then it ends. Sega actually added a whole bunch of (free?) DLC to extend the play time, but it's pretty bland. I think if you're one of those people who just plays to beat a game, SA might be better. The "overworld" is immersive and encourages exploration, but also often the most frustrating and tedious part of a playthrough.
SA2 has SOOOOO much to do, especially SA2:B. Get all the A ranks, chaos chaos chaos, versus mode, and speed runs. Trying to speed run the hedgehog levels is so fun because most of them are so smooth. There's just so much to do that if any of the side content appeals to you, you'll prefer SA2. --- He/Them "Am I a butterfly dreaming I'm a man... Or a bowling ball dreaming I'm a plate of sashimi? SA1 is a better game. SA2 is okay, but not enough Sonic/Shadow levels and they got way too cute with the level design and abundance of the other character types.

adventure 1 is a better game. 2 has a couple levels that are better than anything in adventure 1 but a bunch of levels that are dramatically worse as well.

SA2. I don't care for the hub world in SA1. Sure it's kinda neat at first but all it does is slow things down inbetween the real gameplay. Which is the levels.
