I haven't been to one since I was a child. They were always full here, with reservation only, and super expensive.

I've never been to one but my wife and I were just talking about them not that long ago, surprised they were still around.

It's insane to keep the endless shrimp on then. Hopefully they won't close permanently. I go there all the time. But the endless shrimp was always just for a limited time before. I don't know why they kept it on.

I always hated goign there even as a child becuase they were super expensive and I knew it was a waste of money. Those cheese biscuits are the best ffood item they have.

The one by me is a fucking dump. Went there once and the food was served on dirty plates with shit-tier service. Nahh.

Red lobster is F tier seafood. Don't think I've eaten at a worse seafood restaurant

Just close all the restaurants and sell cheddar bay biscuits at some other better place

You can buy the actual mix they use. Its just less satisfying because you can't get instant refills with no effort but they do taste the same.

they're the only half decent seafood restaurant around this dump, that's a bummer.

I heard the real story is they got bought out by some venture capital firm with the goal of tanking it to somehow appease investors or make money(I am not knowledgeable about venture capitalists other than i was told I should try eating one some day)

Last time I went to Red Lobster was when I graduated college and my mom took me there after the ceremony. Pretty sure it was an endless shrimp day since the only reason I can think my mom would want to go is to get endless shrimp, it is the only seafood she ever ate.

Ehh... I used to like the occasional stack of pancakes with strawberries at IHOP back when it was barely reasonably priced. Now I just save the money and grief, and make my own pancakes and strawberry compote.

The last time I went to Denny's was because a friend of mine, that I hadn't seen in a few years, and I decided we wanted to go somewhere still open at 11 at night and troll the staff with the stupidest order we could feasibly make. We decided on hashbrowns with chocolate fudge; the food wasn't great, but the reaction from the waitress was beautiful. Then three months later I moved in with her (my friend).

Of the fried chicken places I've tried, Popeye's doesn't agree with my stomach. Like my body still digests it, but I feel nauseous for about a day and a half after, and that's after one piece. Most places take about 6-12 pieces before I feel anything close to that. o_O

The rangoon was alright. Overall thought Red Lobster was pretty meh though. No real loss to me.

None of those are amazing cant miss experiences but why dontcha give more of em a shot?

I'm not truly heartbroken. My usual order was the Admiral's Platter, but with the last few of those I've ordered, the fish was flavorless and the clam strips had a chemical taste to them.

I'll be the saddest if this spells the end of the Cheddar Bay biscuit mix at supermarkets.

I just like the biscuits. But I was never too big on the food. But I liked going there with my family. Its been a couple years since we last went, though

The whole deal behind endless shrimp or pasta is you *can* get endless, but the waiter is really slow, most likely a decision by corporate to intentionally slow down the customers eating habits, but it comes off as poor service. I could see servers hating these endless shrimp promotions because it brings out the absolute animals of society and since they're told to be slow so the patron gets less endless stuff, the customer will probably rightly be pissed off about the poor service.

I havent been to a buffet in a while but thinking about endless shrimp makes me want to go to one now. all the mediocre food you can get, without corporate making you wait 30 minutes in between plates.

I could believe it was either a short-selling scheme or a matter of tanking the value to sell stocks cheaply to a group of investors who would then make bank when the business re-opened. Both are ostensibly illegal, since that qualifies as insider trading, but "illegal" is more of a gentle suggestion in the investment world than anything with real consequences attached to it.
